Hubert Lynn Edwards

Hubert Lynn "P-dot" Edwards II, 21 of Altus, OK. died Sunday July 23rd, 2006 in Clinton, OK. "P-Dot” Edwards was born August 24th, 1984, in Altus, OK. to Hubert L. Edwards of Altus, OK. and Valerie Hunter also of Altus, OK. He was an avid singer/rapper, songwriter, and performer, and often opened for music artists in Norman and Oklahoma City. A member of the Baptist Faith, he attended Altus Public Schools and proudly participated in ROTC and track during those years. He also was employed as a cook by Whataburger in Altus. He was preceded in death by two grandparents Robert Hunter and Rosemary Mitchell. 

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Ronnie Dennis of Altus, OK. Fantina Martin of Granite, OK.; three sisters, Marshae Holloway of McLeod, OK., Akeia Edwards of Altus, OK., Shavon Edwards (Gude) of Marlin, TX.; grandparents Reba Jo Shivers and Lindsey Edwards; a host of many loving aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews, and special friend of five years, Lynda Culpepper of Altus, OK.

 Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 29th, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Elder D. Wayne Jones officiating and assisted by Minister Coval Thomas. Burial will follow the services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Bonnie Lee Elliott

        Bonnie Lee Elliott, 82, Altus, died Wednesday February 23, 2005 at the English Village Manor Nursing Home.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. February 26, 2005 at the Kincannon  Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Bohannan and Rev. T.O. Parsons officiating.  Burial  will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

        Bonnie was born May 20, 1922 in Seagraves, TX to William T. and Rosa May (James) Busby.  She attended Altus High School through the 11th grade when she started working to support family after her father's death.  She married Tony Elliott.  To this union, a son was born.  She worked her way up to office manager of Chickasha Compress, office manager of the COOP Compress and retired as office manager of the Hemphill Cotton Compress.  She was faithful member of the Altus Church of the Nazarene.  She served as church treasurer, on the church board, as Sunday school teacher and many other positions.  She dearly loved her church.  She loved to cook, especially baking her bread, cakes and pies and sharing them with countless number of family and friends.  After retirement, she took up quilting and enjoyed making and giving away many to her family and friends.  She at one time was a member of the Southwest OK Quilt Guild.

        He husband preceded her in death;  her parents;  sister Velma Busby and two brothers, W.T. Busby and Melvin Busby. She is survived by her son, Anthony L 'Butch' Elliott and wife Carol of Altus, OK; grandchildren, Anthony L 'Tony' Elliott III of Ruidoso, NM and Bobbie Jo Fowler of SC;  grandchildren of love, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Whitt of Boonville, MO, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bentley of Humboldt of AZ and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Whitt of San Antonio, TX;  ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Oleta Hatton and Vonneda 'Bill' Douglas, both of Altus; nieces, nephews and many friends. Donnie Elliott   

        Donnie L. Elliott, 71, of Blair died Monday, November 13, 2006. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Blair First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Mitchell and Rev. Tyler McDowell officiating. Burial will follow services at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.    

        He was born June 26, 1935, in Blair, to Louis and Velma Ray (Roberts) Elliott.  He graduated from Blair High School in 1953 and attended WOSC for two years.  He finished his Bachelor of Science in Education degree at Oklahoma State University.  His Master’s Degree in Education was obtained mostly from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. 

        Donnie Elliott taught and coached baseball and basketball at Verdon, Blair, Granite, and WOSC.  He served on the Oklahoma Girl’s Basketball Coaches Association Board of Directors for eight years.  He was a member of the OCA for 17 years and was the OCA Girl’s Basketball Coach of the year in 1971 and 1976.  He was inducted into the Jackson County Hall of Fame, Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the Oklahoma Athletics Hall of Fame.  All were in recognition of outstanding ball clubs and wins from his talented young men and women that he had the honor to coach.  In addition to his years in education, he was a full time farmer. He was a member of Blair First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He also served on the Cemetery Committee.   

        He married Maudine (McBroom) of Sentinel on July 18, 1958.  Both his parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Maudine; two sons, Ray Dean and Wesley; one daughter, Donna; two granddaughters, Shelby and Shauna; two sisters, Rayma Dennis and husband C.H. of Altus, and Sylinda Rissot and husband Bob of Clayton, Indiana; as well as a host of family and friends.

Kalan and Chloe Elmore

        Kalan and Chloe Elmore, two-month-old infant children of Janelle Perez and Brandon Elmore, of Olustee, OK, died Monday November 27, 2006 as a result of an automobile accident north of Olustee. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, December 1, 2006 at Kincannon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Olustee Cemetery in Olustee, OK.

        Kalan and Chloe Elmore were born minutes apart on September 20, 2006 in Altus, OK to Janelle Perez and Brandon Elmore.

        They were preceded in death by their great-great grandfather Orville Elmore; and one cousin, Brandon Lee Perez. Chloe and Kalan are survived by their parents; one sister, Trinity Lopez; one brother, Marcus Lopez; Grandparents Kristy and Kenneth Kastrow of Frederick, OK; Lorenzo and Mary Anne Perez of Olustee, OK; Great-Grandparents Frank and Norma Elmore of Frederick, OK; Lambert and Alice Kastrow, of Hebron, ND: Aunts and Uncles; Daniel and Cara Perez of Altus, Tiffany Kastrow of Frederick, Criscinda Perez of Olustee, Ross Corker of Olustee, Cassidy Perez of Olustee; cousins; Felicity Perez of Olustee, Evan Perez of Altus, Tristan Corker of Olustee, and Anbrya Corker of Olustee.

Olis D. "Catfish" "Tater" English

        Olis D. "Catfish" "Tater" English, 72, Altus, died Friday April 1, 2005 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2005 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Mark Morey officiating.  Burial will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

        Mr. English was born May 13, 1932 to Frank and Ommer (Peterson) English in Leonia Florida.  He graduated from Ponce De Leon High School in Florida. He married Fern E. Smith October 17, 1967 in Altus, Oklahoma .He later attended WOSC in Altus, Oklahoma.  He served in the Army/Air Force from 1949 to 1973, retiring after 22 years as a  SSgt.  He also worked at the City of Altus Water Treatment Plant for 22 years and retired in February 2003.  He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of several organizations including the Altus Masonic Lodge #62 where he was a 23 year member as of 2004, the KCCH Scottish Rite Masons, the Shiners, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and American Veterans.  He enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities, and teaching Masonic work.

        He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ommer English; his wife Fern E. English; 4 brothers, Wilburn English, Willie Joe English, Paul Franklin, and John Terry English; 2 sisters, Cordelia English and Maeommie Borguland, and one step-son Gerald R Conaway.

        He is survived by 1 daughter, Corey A English of Albuquerque, New  Mexico and one step-daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Don Hake of Imperial, Missouri; 3 sisters, Winnie Ruth Brookshire of Defuniak Springs Florida, Helen Mathews of Westville, Florida, and Emma Hudson of Defuniak Springs, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law Steve and Rachel English of Westville, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Tony Esquivel

        Tony Esquivel, 23, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Altus, died Thursday evening in Edmond, OK. Funeral Services are currently pending with Kincannon Funeral Home.

James Eugene Evans

        James Eugene Evans, 64, Altus, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at the home of friends.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 17, at the Altus City Cemetery, with Bobby Laws officiating. Services and burial are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

        He was born on September 15, 1942 to James W. Evans and Shirley Clark.  He graduated from High School in Everett, PA.

        He was a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force.  He entered the United States Air Force on January 30, 1962 and retired on February 29, 1988 with 26 years of service to his country.  His Military decorations were:  Air Force Commendation Medal with two bronze oak leaf clusters, numerous service award ribbons, and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm.    He belonged to several organizations:  Altus Masonic Lodge No. 62 – Perpetual Member; 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Guthrie Bodies; VFW – Life Member; American Legion – Life Member; NRA and American Motorcycle Association.  He was an avid collector of Zippo Lighters, Military Books, loved everything concerning his “Harley”.  He made numerous long trips with his Harley.

        He was preceded in death by his parents James W. Evans and Shirley Clark. He is survived by a special friend, Bobby Laws; several aunts and cousins in the Pennsylvania and Delaware area; extended family of Mr. and Mrs. John Howard and their two daughters of Mildenhall, England; the entire Masonic family of the Altus Masonic Lodge No. 62; and Ruth, a God sent caregiver in his final days on this earth.
