Carlin Ragar
Carlin Ragar, 76, Altus, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services with full military honors are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Restlawn Cemetery with Rev. Gregory Hawn officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Carlin Henry Ragar was born January 31, 1930 in Scarboro Town, MD, to Garland and Mary (Hughes) Ragar. Upon graduating from high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served 20 years, 2 months, and 9 days and retired as Staff Sgt. on September 30, 1971. Carlin then began working for the City of Altus, where he worked for 16 years and retired in l987.
On October 13, 1959, Carlin married Gladys Williamson in Wichita Falls, Texas. Carlin was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. For his pastime, he enjoyed race cars, fishing, and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother ; two sisters; one son, Carlin H. Ragar, Jr., and a son-in-law, Bob Clark. He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of the home; five daughters, Twilla Thomas and husband Dion of Grand Prairie, TX, Carol Patton and husband Larry of Oklahoma City, OK, Bernice Clark of Wichita Falls, TX, Carla Ragar of Bristol, TN, and Sara Ragar of NC; two sisters, Mary Waters and husband Earl of NC, and Hazel Johnson , of Kentucky. Patricia A. Rafferty
Patricia A. Rafferty, 52, Altus, went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 14, 2006. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
She was born on October 22, 1953 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Jesse and Lillie (Kiehn) Huey. She graduated from Warminster High School, Warminster, Pa. in 1971. She worked at Jackson County Memorial Hospital as a Supervisor in the Dietary Department from 1975 until 1989. She married Greg Rafferty on October 15, 1988 in Westcliffe, Colorado. She worked for W & W Kountry Kitchen from 1996 until 2001 and worked for J. C. Penny’s as a sales associate until 2004. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, enjoyed baking, cake decorating, floral arrangements and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Samuel and Elizabeth Kiehn and Jerry and Alma Huey.
She is survived by her husband Greg of the home; her parents of Altus, Ok; three daughters, Crystal Brenzo and husband Donald of Altus, Ok; Kristina Rafferty of St. Petersburg, Fl; Virginia Rafferty of Clearwater, Fl; three sons, Cheyenne Weatherford and wife Tanisha of Crestview, Fl; Michael Rafferty and wife Carola of Lawton, Ok; Kevin Rafferty of Treasure Island, Fl; one sister, Joyce Wissell and husband Ron of Altus; nine grandchildren, Hunter Brenzo, Makayla Dowling, Shania and Harmony Weatherford, Charlize, Janea and Jasmine Rafferty, Devin Barrow and Savannah Boles; two special friends, Carolyn Sosa and Tracy Pearson and many friends.

Cecil Harrison Raiden
Cecil Harrison Raiden, 85, of Altus, OK died Monday, June 11, 2007 at his home. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Elder D. Jones and Bennie Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Mr. Raiden was born March 28, 1922 to Jimmy and Gladys (Harrison) Raiden in Honey Grove, Texas. He married Christine Weaver January 18, 1945 in Mangum, OK. Cecil was an auto mechanic. He retired in 2006, after working at Eastern Motors for thirty-five years. He enjoyed the Altus Speedway, drag racing, NASCAR, hunting, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Christine; one son Cecil Leroy Raiden, Jr.; two daughters Rebecca Crosby, Mary Ethridge; and a maternal aunt Alberta Miller. He is survived by three daughters, Esther L. Binion and husband George of Cleveland, Ohio, Shirley A. Raiden and husband Steve of Pittsburg, PA, Gwendolyn E. Raiden and husband James of Altus, OK; one son Carl E. Raiden of Altus, OK, two god – daughters, Barbara Charles and husband William of Pittsburg, PA and Alice Fisher of Altus, OK; one sister Minnie Lee Jackson; seventeen grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 at Kincannon Funeral Home.
Rosey L. Ramay
Rosey L. Ramay was called home to be with our Father and Savior on February 9, 2008. She was born on February 11, 1932 in Reed, Oklahoma to James I. and Mattie Oden.
She lived in Southwest Oklahoma all her life until she moved to Oklahoma City in 2004. She married J.C. Ramay on August 28, 1948. They had two children, James and Susan.
She was a wonderful Christian. She worked with children more than 40 years; teaching Sunday School, Training Union, Sunbeams, and Vacation Bible School. She taught children at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly and was the Associational Sunbeam Director for many years. She coached Bible Drill and was thrilled when one of her students won the State Bible Drill Competition. She was a great help to the elderly and people in need. Rosey will be truly missed and was loved by all that knew her. She has been an inspiration and a source of unconditional love to everyone.
Rosey and J.C. operated a custom harvest business. She was known for her great cooking skills. She also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 9 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Ramay, her parents, her in-laws, three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her son, James Ramay of Oklahoma City; her daughter, Susan Sibley; and two grandsons Billy Sibley of Dalhart, Tx. and J.C. Sibley of Woodward, Oklahoma; two brothers, J.V. Oden and wife, Kathryn of Altus, OK. and Russell Oden and wife, Winona of Welling, OK; three sisters-in-law, Mary Oden of Yukon, OK., Pauline Oden of Altus, OK., and Blanche Oden of Altus, OK.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will follow services at the Gould Cemetery, Gould, OK., under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Martin Rangel
Martin Rangel, age 83 of Altus, died at his home on Thursday, April 6, 2006. A Vigil and Rosary service will be held Sunday, April 9 at 7:00 P.M. at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus, Oklahoma. Funeral Mass will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 10, 2006 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Joe Arledge officiating. Burial Service will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Martin was born to Magadaleno and Margarita (Fabian) Rangel January 30, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas. at the age of 18, Martin began his military career when he enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942, at Brooks Field, San Antonio, Texas. August 8, 1942, Martin married the “Love of his Life”, Romana Salas in San Antonio, Texas. At the beginning of his Military career Martin was sent to the South Pacific during WWII, as an aerial gunner of the P-61 Black Widow where he flew 22 combat missions. He was discharged in l945 as a reservist at Kelly AFB, San Antonio, Texas. In 1951 because of the Korean War, he was recalled to duty where he spent time on Heartbreak Ridge. He was discharged in 1954, but decided he loved the military life and wanted to make it his career. In 1955, he re-entered the Air Force and retired in 1979 as Chief Master Sergeant. He worked 10 years for Transit Alert and then worked part-time for Fox’s Lumber until the age of 71.
Martin was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, the American Legion, Disabled American Vets, and Air force Association. He enjoyed fixing cars and lawn mowers, building different projects, walking and exercising. He loved his spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Romana , parents, brothers, sisters, and son-in-law Doug Yorn. He is survived by five daughters, Irma Wollenzin and husband Bruce of San Antonio, TX, Becky Morey and husband Bruce of Altus, Esther Rutzebeck and husband Randy of Jacksonville, FL, Lucy Dvorak and husband Gerald of Las Vegas, NV, Marsha Delgadillo and husband Arnoldo of Altus; one sister Augustina Tovar of San Antonio, TX; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandson. Bluie Adair Reed, 91, Altus, died Saturday January 8, 2005 at the Plantation Village Nursing Home. Bluie Adair (Cookson) Reed was born in Qualls, Oklahoma on November 28, 1913 to Mary Ade Cookson and Clement Cookson. She was born a Cookson in the Cookson Hills, Cherokee County, Oklahoma. Those hills were named after her great-grandfather, who had the first post office in that county. She married Cecile E. Reed and bore 3 sons, Carl, Jack and Von. She spent most of her adult life in Beckham and Marshall County. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecile; a son Jack, and a granddaughter, Tena Lynn Reed, sisters, Edna Sharum and Edith Dougherty; brothers, Bill Cookson and Andy Cookson. She leaves behind her sons, Carl and family of Altus, and Von and family, of Norman, OK., 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Dunn and Anna Mae Weatherford; and a brother, Levi Cookson. Roger Wayne Reese
Roger Wayne Reese, 65, Altus, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2007 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Jan Oden officiating.
Cremation services and arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Roger was born on January 17, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Lea and Ada (Garcia) James. He attended Altus Schools and served two years in the U.S. Army. He worked for Lorin Winters as a house mover for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by one son Roger Reese, Jr. of Okmulgee, Ok; a sister, Manuela Luttrell of Altus, Ok; a brother, Roy Kester of Clinton, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild and many friends.
Leslie Roger Ressler
Leslie Roger Ressler, age 73 of Altus, died Monday, February 6, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Leslie Roger Ressler was born May 12, 1932 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Carl and Elva Ressler. He retired from the United States Air Force after having served his country for 20 years. Mr. Ressler enjoyed watching TV. and he especially enjoyed watching all of the sports. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. His parents preceded Mr. Ressler in death. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Dudley and Joann Hunt; two aunts, Margaret Kuehne and Mary L. Howells, all of Johnstown, PA. Petra “Betty” Rico, 88, Altus, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M.

Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Betty was born February 20, 1918 to Cruz and Cresencia (Valadez) Sanchez in Brady, Texas. She married Ignacio Rico in Brownwood, TX. To this union eight children were born. Petra was a homemaker, mother, and grandmother to many. She also worked with her husband, the late Rev. Ignacio Rico, as a minister’s wife in building and overseeing several area Spanish Pentecostal Churches. She was a member of the Altus Church of God for several years. She was a homemaker, loved gardening, sewing blankets for the mission field, and visiting the sick and lonely. She loved to start conversations with strangers at Wal Mart or the Mall to share her faith and hope with others. On Wednesday, August 30, 2006, Petra went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She will be missed by her surviving children and grandchild; three daughters, Gloria Rico Johnston of Borger, TX, Alice Wirth and husband Larry, Rose Moreno all of Altus, OK; two sons David Rico of Hawaii, Avey Rico of Altus; one sister Santana Torrez of Brady, TX; two brothers, Jose Sanchez and Noah Sanchez both of Brady, TX; thirty-two grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ignacio in 1981, three sons, John Rico, Salvador Rico, and Aurelio Rico; a son-in-law Robert C. Johnson; several brothers and sisters. Woodrow Wilson Riley
Woodrow Wilson “Fronie” Riley, 94, of Altus, died Friday evening at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2007 at Emmanual Baptist Church with Reverend Boyd Whitehead officiating under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Mr. Riley was born at Greenwood, Texas to John T. and Florence (Thompson) Riley. He graduated high school at Ozark, east of Altus. He married Kathleen “Kay” Prestridge on April 6, 1942 in Altus.
Mr. Riley worked at Rounds & Porter and Mark Lumber yards for 34 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Floyd Riley and John T. Riley and one sister-in-law, Aubrey Smith. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Don Riley and wife Donna of Douglas, Az. and Richard Riley and wife, Robbie of Altus; three brothers, Dub Riley and wife, Dean, of Kamay Texas, Jerry Riley of Iowa Park, Texas, and Francis Riley of Duke; two sister-in-laws, Artie Riley of California, and Helen Riley of Clinton, Ok; three grandsons, James Dale Riley of California, Ryan Maxwell Riley and wife, Amber, of Scottsdale, Az., and Cody Riley of Altus; two granddaughters, Courtney Louann Riley of Altus; and Katie Carolina Riley of Altus; one great-grandson, Canyon Riley of Altus; and one great-granddaughter, Courtney Riley of California.
Louretta Roach
Louretta Roach, 92, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at Plantation Village Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Altus City Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Sarah Louretta Roach was born to Clowe and Minnie B. (Brawley) Jameson on January 16, 1915 in Blair, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Blair High School in 1932. She married Alton Roach on July 22, 1932. They were married for 53 years before he passed away in 1985. Louretta worked at the First National Bank of Altus, retiring in 1982, after 22 years of service there. She was a member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ.
Louretta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton Roach; a brother, Donal Jameson, a daughter, Marcia Fornal, and a son, Rodney Roach. She is survived by three grandchildren, Donald Fornal, Jr., Kelly Basore, and Marc Fornal; six great grandchildren, Stephanie Myirck, Michael Myirck, Craig Basore, Jr., Brian Fornal, Mandy Fornal, Britni Fornal and Nola K. Rochon.

Theodore James "T.J." Roberts, Jr.
T. J. Roberts, Jr., 62, of Altus passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2007 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Bobby Laws officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
He was born February 26, 1945 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Theodore James Roberts, Sr. and Mary Odessa (Taylor). He graduated from Lakeside High School in Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1963 and later earned his BBA. He married Joanne Roberts April 13, 1998 in Vernon, Texas. He served his country in the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam, Guam and Thailand, retiring as MSgt. He was in insurance sales for a while and later worked at Altus Air Force Base in the Civil Service Department until his retirement in 2001.
T.J. was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 33, and the Masonic Lodge for six years. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Cowboy Church in Altus, OK. He enjoyed studying insurance, traveling, E-Bay on the computer, photography, and walking the trails at Wichita Wildlife Refuge.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, and his father Theodore James Roberts, Sr. He is survived by his wife, of the home, his mother, Odessa Roberts; three daughters, Debora Misock and husband Jim of Ardmore, OK, Mary Schafer and husband Kevin of Oklahoma City, OK, Sue Ann Hoyser and husband Tom of New York; two sons James Roberts and wife Crystal of Altus, OK, Junior Garza of Colorado; two brothers Jerry Roberts and wife Pat of Hot Springs, AR, Lonnie Roberts and wife Reba of Conway, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Earl “Sterling” Robinson
Earl “Sterling” Robinson, 76, of Altus, OK, died Friday, May 25, 2007 at English Village Nursing Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 with Bro. Earl Robinson was born June 23, 1930 to Walter and Ammie (Richardson) Robinson in Navasota, Texas. He attended Lincoln High School in Altus. He was a member of Sunset Baptist Church. Earl worked as a mechanic and laborer at the compress throughout the area.
He enjoyed fishing, fixing cars, and spending time with family and friends. He was a very quiet, passive, and family oriented man.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carrie Fuller; four sisters, Bernice Igner, Edna Mitchell, Roxie Arrington, Odessa Pickett; three brothers, K.J. Robinson, U.L. Robinson, and Jimmy Lee Robinson. He is survived by two former spouses, Willie Mearl Reynolds and Betsy Jo Miller; one daughter Reta Moye and husband Daniel of Harvest, AL; two sons, Harold C. Robinson and wife Catherine of Albuquerque, NM, and Sterling Robinson, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Geraldine “Gerry” Roberts
Geraldine “Gerry” Roberts, 84, of Childress, TX formerly of Altus, OK died Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Childress Regional Medical Center in Childress, Tx. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Altus, with Larry Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow services at the Frederick Cemetery, Frederick, Oklahoma, under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Geraldine Roberts was born September 12, 1921, in Manitou, Oklahoma to Ernest Gene and Ruth Inez (Robertson) Pruitt. A lifelong resident of the Altus area, she attended school in Frederick, OK and graduated in 1939. After graduation she married Bruce Roberts on June 29, 1941 in Frederick, Oklahoma.
She worked tirelessly in the home raising her children and helping her husband Bruce with their business. She led an unselfish life of church work and volunteer work, giving to others and expecting nothing in return. She taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She worked as secretary for the First Baptist Church and later was the secretary for the Department of Human Services Child Protective Services Division. She and Mr. Roberts opened their home to many foster children during this time. She also served as secretary for the Association of Christian Ministries, was a volunteer at Jackson County Memorial Hospital and was instrumental in starting the Spanish Mission and Escaleta Day Care. Mr. Roberts supported her efforts as he bussed the small children to the school every day.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bruce; two sons, Stanton Edward Roberts; Timothy Roberts; two brothers and one sister. She is survived by two daughters Kathy Lindley and husband Wayne of Childress, Tx; Susie Skaggs and husband Dennis of Enid, Oklahoma; son Tom Roberts and wife Rhonda of Alma, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and many friends. Ronald F. Robbins
Ronald F. Robbins, 66, of Altus, OK died Sunday, November 19, 2006. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Bill Osborne and Matt Springfield will be officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home of Altus.
Ronald F. Robbins was born December 12, 1939, in Headrick, OK to Dan and Alma (Waldrop) Robbins. He attended Altus High School and graduated in 1957. After high school he attended Oklahoma State University. He also attended the Colorado Gunsmith School in Denver graduating in 1967 as well as attending and completing numerous “clock schools” throughout the U.S. He worked most of his adult life as a farmer. A member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ, he also enjoyed building and repairing clocks, spending time with his dogs, and getting to know people.

Ada Robertson, 81, Lawton, OK. and formerly of Altus, died Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the Meridian Nursing Home in Comanche, OK. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 30, 2006 at Sullivan Village Church of Christ in Lawton, Ok. Burial will be 2:30 P.M. at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Ada was born on January 21, 1925 in Matheson, Colorado to Reuben J. and Catherine M. (Troyer) Yutzy. She attended schools in Colorado, Kansas and completed High School in Altus. She also attended Altus Junior College. She worked for the Woolworth Company for almost 20 years before she married Jonathan Conway (J.C.) Robertson May 17, 1956. She worked for the Altus Public Schools as a cook at Wilson and L. Mendel Rivers Elementary Schools for over 20 years. She taught 3rd grade Sunday School with Mrs. Jo Gregg at Elm and Hudson Church of Christ where she was a faithful member, for over 30 years before moving to Lawton. After moving to Lawton, she placed membership with the Sullivan Village Church of Christ. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for friends and relatives throughout her years. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband J. C.; two brothers, Clarence and Mahlon Yutzy; four sisters, Gladys Bowman, Erma Sullivan, Mary Ebersol, Bertha Campbell; brother-in-law Bud Reber; sister-in-law Margie Yutzy. Florence Rozelle Rochelle
Florence Rozelle Rochelle, 94, of Altus, died early Thursday morning at Plantation Village. Her services are pending with Bonita Springs Funeral Home of Bonita Springs, FL. Kincannon Funeral Home of Altus is handling all local arrangements.
Rozelle Rochelle was born January 16, 1913 in Weakley County, TN to Clarence and Emma (Simmons) Jenkins. She married Hilliard T. Rochelle in Bradford, TN on January 21, 1935 and obeyed her Lord in baptism in 1939. The couple moved to Pontiac, MI in 1950 and was very active in the church there. She became a lifetime member of the Ladies Association of Michigan Christian Colleges of Rochester, MI. The couple was longtime members of the Church of Christ while in Michigan. After her husband’s death in 1990, she moved to Bonita Springs, FL where she lived for most of the remainder of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence, three sisters: Cora Swindel, of TN; Eddie Mae Golden, of Pontiac, MI; and Pauline Jenkins of Greenfield, TN; two brothers: Odell Jenkins of Greenfield, TN and Fred Jenkins of Louisville, KY, one daughter-in-law, Delphene Rochelle, and one grandson, Ricky Rochelle.

Maria E. “Queta” Rodriguez, 77, Altus, died Thursday, February 16, 2006. She was born on July 15, 1928 in Kingsville, Texas to Juan and Catalina (Robles) Cervantes. She attended school in Kingsville, Texas. She married Fabian Rodriguez, Sr. on September 1, 1947 in Edinburg, Texas. She was a member of the Sinai Assemblea de Dios. She liked dancing, Mexican Soap Operas, tinkering around the house and spending time with family and friends.
Her parents; her husband Fabian Rodriguez, Sr.; two sons Amado Riojas and Tomas Rodriguez and her brother Benito Cervantes preceded her in death. She is survived by five daughters, Kathleen Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; Irene Casias of Altus; Maria E. Garcia and husband Elias of Pflugerville, Texas; Lorenza Garcia and husband Candy of Altus; Janie Izquierdo of Fort Worth, Texas; two sons, Fabian Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Karen of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Pedro Rodriguez of Altus; twenty one grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and many friends.

Rafael Roman
Rafael Roman, 83, Altus, OK, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at his home in Altus. Funeral service will be 11:00 Monday, June 4, 2007 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Colonel Donald Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sill Cemetery in Lawton, OK under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Rafael Roman was born July 28, 1923 to Ramon and Ricarda (Negron) Roman in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. He attended High School at Bayamon, Puerto Rico. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor at Hawaii, he volunteered for the U.S. Army. He was assigned to serve in the defense of the Panama Canal and later to the Asiatic Pacific Area. Upon the surrender and occupation of Japan, he returned to Puerto Rico and attended the Benedict Business College at San Juan, Puerto Rico where he received an Associates Degree in Business. In 1947, he reenlisted in the United States Army. While serving in the Panama Canal, he met and married Berta A. Barichovich Fernandez on March 8, 1952. During his years in the Army, Rafael received nineteen service medals, decorations, and badges. These included the Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Service Medal, Pacific Asiatic Service Medal, WWII Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Occupation Service Medal (Japan), National Defense Service Medal, Korean Campaign Service Medal with Battle Stars, Armed Forces Expeditionary Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean War Service Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Armed Forces Service Medal with 3 Oak leaf clusters, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and the Army Air Crew Badge. After twenty-one years of military services, he retired June 1, 1965 at Fort Hamilton, New York. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Lawton, OK, VFW Post 1193 of Lawton, OK, American Legion Post 29 of Lawton, OK, and the 1st Calvary Division of Copperas Cove, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Berta, three sons, Freddy Roman, Miguel Roman, Juan Roman; two daughters, Rachel Roman and Judith Roman.
He is survived by four daughters, Dahlys R. Hamilton of Atlanta, GA, Dolores R. Balliet of Warner Robbins, GA, Dilka R. Roman of Miami, FL, Darlene R. Roman, Columbus, OH; five sons, Irving A. Ruth Marie Ross
Ruth Marie Ross, 73, Altus, passed away Saturday February 4, 2006 at her home. Memorial Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Ruth Marie Bacon was born September 16, 1932 in Grandfield, OK to Sterling P. and Opal (Roan) Bacon. She was raised in Grandfield and attended school there. She married Claude Ross on November 12, 1948 in Los Angeles, CA. To this union, four children were born. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated homemaker staying busy with activities for her children and grandchildren. She was active in PTA, VFW Women's Auxiliary, and coached girls softball many years as well and enjoyed bowling. She loved koi fish and feeding birds and even built many birdhouses. She enjoyed taking care of her rose bushes and recently began making jewelry. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Altus, OK. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott Ross; two sisters, Genevieve Nease and Donna Bacon and two brothers, Dick and Jr. Bacon. Rosalie Rowden was born May 28, 1928 to J. B. and Jewel (Richardson) Worley in Kelton, Texas. She attended Erick Schools. She married Henry C . Fikes on October 2, 1943 in Erick, Oklahoma and from this union four children were born. She was a member of the Duke First Baptist Church and was an interior decorator. She was also a restaurant owner and a Director of the Senior Meal Site in Duke. She later married Thomas Lee Rowden on September 10, 1970 in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J. B. and Jewel Worley; two brothers, J. C. Worley and Denton Worley; two husbands, Henry C. Fikes and Thomas Rowden; one daughter, Linda Fern Reynolds, one son, Ewell Gean Fikes; a sister Glenda Taylor and three great-grandchildren.

Joseph Runividge
Joseph Louis Runividge, also known
as “Wronowicz,” of Altus, Oklahoma , passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007 at
the Kindred Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00
p.m. Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus. A
vigil will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m., also at the Prince of Peace
Church. Burial will follow the services at the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the
direction of Kincannon Funeral Home of Altus.
He was born April 15, 1919 in Waterbury, CT, to Antonina
(Kosmoski) and Julian Wronowicz, also known as Runividge, who were both born in
Poland. He graduated from Wilby High School, Waterbury, CT on June 21, 1937 and
was well known as an outstanding athlete during his high school years. He was
offered many college scholarships, which he had to turn down to help support his
widowed mother and joined the semi – professional ranks of basketball and
football. He was also hired by Scovill Manufacturing Company of Waterbury in
1939 and became supervisor of incoming and outgoing raw materials until May 23,
1944 when he enlisted in the US Navy to serve his country. He received his boot
camp training at Simpson, NY and then reassigned to Camp Elliot, San Diego, CA
and later to the Federal Building (COMWESSEAFRON) in San Francisco, CA. He was
Honorably Discharged from the US Navy at Shumaker, AC on August 14, 1946 and was
immediately accepted in the US Naval Reserves on the same day.
He married Lily Deen (Haley) Nash on April 21, 1946 at St.
Agnes Catholic Church in San Francisco by Father James A. McGee. They moved to
Waterbury for a short time and decided to move to Roosevelt, Oklahoma in April
1947 to go into partnership with his father-in-law (Dan Haley) to raise cattle
and the farming business. Ha was hired in Civil Service at Ft. Sill in May 1955
to July 1955. He then tested for a job at AAFB which was much closer to his
ranch. He was hired at AAFB in July 1955 and progressed rapidly to the position
at the Air Force Stock Fund Management Specialist in September 1979 and held
this position until his retirement on August 14, 1987. His total net service in
the US Navy and US Naval Reserves accumulated to 14 years, 1 month, and 26 days.
He was given an Honorable Discharge from the US Navel reserves on July 18, 1958
as requested by him in order to help the Southwest Oklahoma Survival Association
(SOS) organization formed by citizens living in the proposed expansion area
fighting the unnecessary land grab of Southwestern Oklahoma in the late 1950’s.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and
their wives. He is survived by his wife, Lily Deen of the home; a daughter,
Sheryl and her husband, John Ellis, Dallas, Texas; two grand daughters Meredith
Ann Ellis and Emily Elizabeth Ellis, both of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Mary
(Kosmoski) Iorio, Waterbury, CT; three nieces, Jane (Iorio) True and husband
John, of Plantsville, CT; Anna may Iorio and Rita (Kosmoski) Caron and husband
Marcel, of Waterbury, CT; two nephews, Robert Iorio and Ronnie Kosmoski,

Lloyd G. Russell was born July 18, 1914 to George and Mae (Campbell) Russell in Peacock, Texas. He attended schools and graduated from Blackwell, Texas High School. He married Hazel L. Allen August 25, 1943 in Lovington, New Mexico. He was a farmer and worked for Roger Moreau for about forty years. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mae Russell; two sisters, Opal Harrist and Iva Rotan.
