Delia Valdez

    Delia S. Valdez, 78, Altus, died Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2007 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Duree officiating. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

     She was born on December 3, 1928 in Mercedes, Texas to Juan and Paulina (Guerra) Solis. She attended school in La Feria, Texas. She married E. T. Valdez on January 6, 1946 in La Feria, Texas. She worked for Kellwood’s in Altus for 15 years, retiring in 1992.

She attended Southside Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, collecting figurines and Angels, growing roses and visiting with friends. She especially enjoyed the company of her Yorkie dog “Buddy”.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Esiquiel Solis and her daughter Angelina Valdez.

     She is survived by her daughter Linda Hill of Altus, Ok; five sons, Carlos Valdez and wife Mary of Altus, Ok; Arturo Valdez and wife Diana of Lawton, Ok; Oscar Lee Caballero of Houston, Tx; Xavier Valdez and wife Rhonda of Altus; Ricardo Valdez of Altus; thirteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; a special friend Libby Guajardo and many friends.

Esiquiel T. Valdez

    Esiquiel T. Valdez, 85, of Altus, died early Sunday morning, September 10, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 10:00 am, at Kincannon Funeral Home in Altus, with  Rev. Jason Duree officiating.  Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.  

    Esiquiel T Valdez was born April 21, 1921 in Blue Town, TX to Jose Valdez and Dolores (Torres) Valdez. He attended school in Santa Maria, Texas. Mr. Valdez served his country proudly for three years in the U. S. Army during WWII. He married Delia S. Solis January 6, 1946 in La Feria, Texas. He worked most of his life with the U. S. Civil Service as a carpenter. When he started work he took on a job he knew nothing about, but he learned how to build just about anything. The Valdez Family moved to Altus in 1960 when Mr. Valdez was transferred by the Civil Service from Harlingen, Texas. He retired in 1990 after 38 years of service. He enjoyed playing dominoes, checkers, cards and carpentry. He also loved to play his harmonica and spend time with his family and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Angelina S. Valdez; one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife Delia of the home in Altus; a daughter, Linda V. Hill of Altus, Ok; four sons, Carlos Valdez and wife Mary of Altus; Arturo Valdez and wife Diana of Lawton, Ok; Oscar Lee Caballero of Houston, Tx; Xavier Valdez and wife Rhonda of Altus; Ricardo Valdez of Altus; thirteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and many friends.          Jean A. Vassella

Jean A. Vassella, 72, Altus, passed away at her home, Tuesday morning, November 18, 2008.  A Rosary will be held 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church officiated by Father Sundar.  Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

     Jean Anne Patnode was born August 28, 1936 to Clifford and Marion (Kosek) Patnode in Superior, Wisconsin.  She graduated from Superior Cathedral High School.  She married Dominic Vassella on June 18, 1955 in Superior, Wisconsin.  Jean worked civil service at the Altus Air Force Base for 23 years before retiring in 1996.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 4876 in the Altus VFW and a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

     Jean is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband, Dominic of the home; four daughters, Sherri Vassella of OKC, OK; Shelly Cox and husband Kelly of Houston, TX; Lyn Wilmes and husband Bruce of Duncan, OK; Kristina Vassella of Tulsa, OK; two sons, Rick Vassella and Debra Vassella of Altus, OK; Dino Vassella and wife Devona of Marlow, OK; one sister, Kathleen Kubicek and husband Al of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; two brothers, Jack Patnode, wife Kathi, and Paul Patnode, wife Gaye, all of Superior, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Shannon Tiller of OKC, OK, Ashley Tiller of Tulsa, OK, Michael Vassella of Altus, OK, Kyle Cox of Houston, TX, Devin Vassella, Ryan Wilmes, Lauren Wilmes and Darien Vassella all of Duncan, OK. and many friends.

 Maria Martinez Villegas

    Maria Martinez Villegas, 51, of Altus, passed away, Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.  A vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the Prince of Peace Church with Father Joseph Arledge officiating.  Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

    Maria was born October 11, 1956 to Feliciano and Maria Prisca (Camarillo) Villegas in Guanajuato, Mexico.  She attended the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She was a devoted homemaker who put everybody ahead of herself, a caregiver and a hard worker.   Her hobbies were taking care of family and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her father.

    She is survived by her mother; a daughter, Carolina Martinez of Altus; two sons, Leopoldo and Francisco Martinez, both of Altus; seven sisters, Manuela Villegas of Mexico; Maximina Garrido of Altus; Irene Cortez of Mexico, Ofelia Lopez, of Dallas, Tx; Ester Garrido and Ernestina Perez, both of Altus; Margarita Villegas of Midland, TX; two brothers, Jesus and Fermin Villegas, both of Altus, OK; three grandchildren, Liliana, Talya and Nahomy Martinez, all of Altus; and a host of other relatives and friends.
