Bettychene Martin Frank

Betty Frank, 83, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, in Altus on Monday, May 21, 2018. Celebration of life services have been scheduled for 11:00 am, Thursday, May 24, 2018 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Erin Martinez officiating. There will be a private family burial. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Bettychene Martin was born on July 13, 1934 to Millie J. and Una Elton "Betty" (Vinyard) Martin in Olustee, Oklahoma. She attended the Aaron and Olustee Schools until the 3rd grade when she moved to Altus Public Schools where she graduated with the Class of 1952. She continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford attaining a Bachelor of Science in Education and later a Master's Degree in Teaching. Betty and Donald Frank were united in marriage on June 3, 1955 in Altus, Oklahoma and to this union two daughters were born. Betty taught school in the Altus Public Schools for 38 years, including first grade at Will Rogers and Sunset and kindergarten at Central. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, and dancing with the Silver Belles. She loved playing and watching basketball and was named to the Jackson County Basketball Hall of Fame. She never missed a ball game or a music performance that involved her girls. Betty was of the Methodist faith and cherished the friendship with her neighbors and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Donald,
of the home; two daughters, Tamara Frank and husband, George Tate, and Donell Frank and husband, Juan Ramirez; two sisters, Millie Jo Morris and Barbara Ellis and husband, Bennie; and many friends. During her final illness, she was cared for by a group of wonderful women who have become part of the family. Our deepest thanks go to Amber, Diana, Juli and Bernice. Mom received excellent care and allowed us all to sleep better at night.
The Frank family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
