Bonnie Lee Simpson

October 8, 1931 — November 21, 2016

Bonnie Simpson, 85, Altus, passed away early Monday morning. Graveside services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, Texas with Rev. Doug Altom officiating. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home.

Bonnie Lee Willis was born October 8, 1931 to Joe and Velma (Fulton) Willis in Logan, New Mexico. She graduated from McLean High School in 1949 and played on the 1949 Texas State Women's Basketball team. Bonnie loved helping her dad on their cattle ranch in Texas. Bonnie and Kenneth Ross Simpson were united in marriage on January 26, 1951 in McLean, Texas. To this marriage three children were born. Bonnie was a homemaker and a long time member of the 1st Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico where she also played the organ. She loved spending time with her friends and family.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three sisters, Brilla Osborn, Laura Kennedy and Jolene Willis.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughter, Krista Hilley and husband, T.O.; two sons, Kenny Simpson; and Rex Simpson and wife, Lisa; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
