Donald Thomason, 89, Altus, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Ricky Crouch officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Donald Earl Thomason was born June 18, 1927 to George Dewey and Vernie (Melbia) Thomason in Gould, Oklahoma. He graduated from Lewis Hill High School in 1945. Mr. Thomason served in the United States Navy from September 18, 1945 until he was honorably discharged as a Fireman First Class on August 17, 1946. Donald and Twana Brake were united in marriage on December 22, 1954 in Eldorado, Oklahoma, and to this union three children were born. He was a farmer and a custom harvester. He liked the smell of fresh plowed ground, working in the fields and harvesting a good crop. Mr. Thomason also greatly appreciated the long time relationships he had with his farm clients over the years. Donald was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus and was a humble man who will be dearly missed.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Twana; granddaughter, Christan Thomason; and three brothers, Willis, R.E. and Lloyd Thomason.
He is survived by his daughter, Janna Thomason Roe; two sons, Mark Thomason and wife, Susan, and Steve Thomason; four grandchildren, Matthew Thomason, Tessa Thomason, Megan Galvan and husband, Emilio, and Jessica Chumley and husband, Matt; three great-grandchildren, Devin Prelesnick, Chloe Prelesnick and E.J. Galvan; one sister, Opal Laverne Martin; and many friends.
The Thomason Family will greet friends Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Kincannon Gathering Room.
Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Days Inn to the South and Western Sizzlin' to the North.
