Margarito Lopez

Margarito Lopez, 73, Olustee, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Seeton officiating. Burial will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Margarito was born on February 13, 1943 in Raymondville, Texas to Enrique and Margarita (Garcia) Lopez. He married Hortencia Galicia in Altus, Oklahoma on November 8, 1962. He worked as a carpenter most of his life and enjoyed woodworking. Margarito was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He enjoyed picking pecans and yard work. He had a special place in his heart for his kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. In Olustee, he was known as "El Mayor," driving around town to check on things and friends.

His parents, Enrique and Susanna Lopez, his mother, Margarita Lopez, a brother, Enrique Lopez, Jr., and a son-in-law, Dennis Farmer, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Hortencia, of the home; five children, Gloria Banda, Rojelio Lopez and wife, Janie, Margarita Fixico and husband, Eagle, Daniel Lopez, and Magdalena Garcia and husband, Marco; 15 grandchildren, Veronica, Angelica, Magdalena, Carlos, Hortencia, Reyna, Selena, Daniel, Gary, Jordan, Justice, Anthony, Chelsea, Marco, Jr., and Madison; 11 great grandchildren; 12 brothers and sisters, Santana Lopez and wife, Lucia, Severo Lopez and wife, Rosa, Juan Lopez and wife, Eugenia, Jesus Lopez and wife, Rebecca, Stella Hinojosa and husband, Antonio, Tomas Lopez and wife, Emilia, Raymunda Walker and husband, Joe, Sebastian Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Moises Lopez and wife, Michelle, Enriqueta Guerra and husband, Armando, and Inez Bailey; and many other family and friends.

A rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel.
