Myrtle "Alice" Freed

February 10, 1938 — August 19, 2015

Myrtle "Alice" Freed, 77, Altus, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Plantation Village Assisted Living Center. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Jason Duree officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Myrtle Alice Garrison was born February 10, 1938 to Edgar and Minnie (Walters) Garrison in Wapanucka, Oklahoma. She graduated from Coleman High School in 1956. Alice and Dwain Lee Freed were united in marriage on March 16, 1958 in Anthony, Kansas and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. She was a homemaker, worked in retail management and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Altus for forty one years. She loved cooking meals for the church and was blessed with the spiritual gift of encouragement and serving. Alice also worked on the election board.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charlie Garrison, Stinson Garrison, Garland Garrison, Dub Garrison, Frank Garrison, Wayne Garrison; and sister, Virgie Mae Garrison; sisters-in-law, Leta Mae Garrison, Loraine Garrison; brothers-in-law, Rolland Freed and Robert Freed.
She is survived by her husband, Dwain, of the home; two daughters, Brenda Welch and Mary Ann Lambert and husband Les; son, Douglas Freed; grandchildren, Carren Welch, Lisa Welch, Olivia Freed, Angela Freed, Takara Maddex and husband Brandon, Tyler Martinez, Brett Smith and wife Kate, Lynsey Smith, Terry Gilbert and wife Suzanne, Jeremy Lambert and wife Amy, Jennifer Umana and husband A.K., and Erin Lambert and fiance' Chris Mercer; great-grandchildren, Teigan Maddex, Braylon Maddex, Jack Smith, Andre' Gilbert, Bentley Gilbert, Jess and Andrea Russell, Les Mead, Jayden Mead, Bailey Mead, Makayla Lambert, Taryn Lambert, Kiara Umana, Isabella Umana, Skye Martinez and Jeremiah Martinez, Jr. She also leaves sisters-in-law, Joy Garrison, Curley Garrison, Janie Freed and Ann Freed and special relatives and friends, Daryl and Marcia Smith and Jayme Golden.
The Freed family will greet friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Baptist Church, 1100 Asalee, Altus, OK 73521.
