Sherry Elaine St. Clair

Sherry Elaine St. Clair, 70, Altus, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017. Funeral services will be held at Kincannon Funeral Home on 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 21, 2017 with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22 at the Laurel Cemetery, Haven, Kansas under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Elliott Mortuary.

Sherry Elaine Scott was born February 13, 1947 in Newton, Kansas to John B., Jr. and Lois (Brown) Scott. She graduated from Haven High School, Haven, Kansas, in 1965, continuing her education at Emporia State College, Emporia, Kansas, attaining a Bachelor of Science in Education. Sherry married Wes St. Clair on January 15, 1972 in Haven, Kansas. She was an elementary school teacher for 42 years, and had a lifelong impact on students she taught in Jacksonville, Arkansas and Altus, OK. She retired in 2012, but continued to work with the teachers and students at Roosevelt Elementary as an aide and volunteer. Sherry was active in the Jaycees in Little Rock, Arkansas and the Special Olympics in Altus. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus and the Oklahoma Education Association. She had a passion for gardening, coaching and umpiring softball, and spending time with her family and friends.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Mike Scott; a sister, Janice Wilson; and one niece, Kimmie Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Wes St. Clair; two daughters, Brandy Lackey and husband, Mike; Mandy Dwyer and husband, Brian; four sisters, Peggy Renfro and husband, Mike; Cindy Daniels and husband, Ken; Paula Scott; and Kaye Wright; one brother, Dick Scott; four grandchildren, Devin Dwyer, Allison Lackey, Whitney Lackey and Megan Dwyer; best friends, Jackie Bostic, Cheryl Anderson, Holly Wall, Debi Ruby, Kathy Fowler Edwards; and many other friends.

The St. Clair family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 evening at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to: ALS Association Keith Worthington Mid-America Chapter, 6950 Squibb Rd. Suite 210, Mission, KS 66202 or to the Wounded Warriors.

Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Days Inn to the South and Western Sizzlin' to the North.
