Alberta Patterson

Alberta Patterson was born on March 24, 1939 and passed from Earth to Reward on November 23, 2019. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
She is survived by her step-sister Georgia Dixson of Kansas City, Kansas; step-daughters, Georgia Shannon of Asheville, North Carolina; Clara Shearon (Robert) of Dallas, Texas; Ruby Carsen of Topeka, Kansas; Bobbie Dudley of Dallas, Texas; Ethel Peterson of Fort Worth, Texas; Portia Comer of Atlanta, Georgia; step-son, Loy McLaughlin, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a host of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step- great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Albert Patterson; her parents, Albert and Ruth Dixon; her sister, Mattie Lee and her brother Andre Dixon.
Alberta was a resident of Altus for over 20 years. She retired from the Jackson County OSU Cooperative Extension Service, where she taught in-home nutrition education classes to low-income families. Alberta previously worked in the nursing field.
She was raised in Kansas City, Kansas where she attended Douglas Grade School and graduated from Wyandotte High School.
