Alcy Mildred Wilkie

July 7, 1926 — January 25, 2020

Mrs. Alcy Mildred Wilkie passed away peaceably at the age of 93 at Corn Heritage Village Nursing Home in Weatherford, Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, the 25th of January, 2020. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bruce Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Alcy was born in Blair, Oklahoma on July 7, 1926, to the late Joe and Faye Zinn. She was the fourth of 5 children. Alcy was always very proud of her family history and being raised in Blair. Her grandparents were original settlers in the Blair area and if anyone could tell you of the history of her little hometown, she could.
She graduated from Blair High School and attended college at Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with a major in music. She married Earl Wilkie on September 4, 1946. She was a lifelong, faithful and dedicated member of the Blair United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ for many, many years. In addition to the musical ability to play the piano and organ, she sang in the church choir as well as being a very accomplished and beautiful soloist. She was very involved in church women’s groups, taught Sunday School and was very devoted to afterschool programs for children.
Her hobbies included a love for sewing. She made many of her own clothes, in addition to sewing for her grandchildren. If you can remember what a “Martha Miniature” dress looked like, she made very many of those for her granddaughters. She and her husband enjoyed bird watching and collecting bird figurines. She loved classical music and crossword puzzles. Her favorite pastime though would have to simply be, being with family.
Alcy was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Faye Zinn; 2 brothers, Jake and Phillip Zinn; 1 sister, Jo Jean Treadaway; 1 granddaughter, April Burdick; and her husband of 65 years, Earl Wilkie. She is survived by her brother, Joe B. Zinn of Arizona; 2 sons, Mark Wilkie of Minominee, Michigan and Benny Wilkie and wife, Paula, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Debra Burdick and husband, Brad, of Weatherford, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; Adam Wilkie of Denver, Colorado; Jason Wilkie and wife, Linda, of Minomonee, Michigan; Melissa Cumby and husband, Jay, of Moore, Oklahoma; Jade Burdick and wife, Missie, of Davenport, Florida; Joey Wilkie and wife, Gina, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Mandy Hobbs and husband, Chad, of Greenwood, Indiana; and Athena Burdick of Weatherford, Oklahoma. Alcy was blessed with 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She lived a wonderful, generous and beautiful life and will be missed greatly.
