Ann Butte

Ann Butte, 87, Altus, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Cremation services are entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will take place at a later date in Jacksonville, Oregon. Ann was born April 9, 1925 to Richard and Genavive (Boone) Gilman in Alhambra, California. She graduated from Alhambra High School and continued her education as a graduate of the College of Design in Pasadena, California. Ann and Bruce W. Butte were united in marriage in 1952 in Englewood, California. Ann was an artist who enjoyed several mediums including period paintings of the 1700s and the 1800s, sculptures and acrylics. She owned and operated her art gallery for many years and also worked as a commercial illustrator for various businesses. Ann was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed reading her Bible and gardening. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two stepsons, Bruce and Brian Butte and brother Richard Gilman, II. She is survived by two sons, Timothy Gilman Butte and wife Donna of Long Beach, CA, and Barney Butte and wife, Donna, of Altus, OK; three grandchildren, Ashley Duran and husband Eddie of Altus, OK; Lindsey Jones and husband Brant of Altus, OK; Brandon Yung of South Pasadena, CA; five great grandchildren, Ethan, Aubrey, Benjamin, Isabella and Sage.
