Aurora Martinez, 64, Altus, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Aurora Martinez was born on August 1, 1953 in Caldwell, Texas to Juan H. and Angelita (Patlan) Martinez. She attended Northside School near Vernon, Texas and worked as a caregiver for most of her life. Aurora enjoyed music, dancing, the outdoors and cooking. She loved being around her family and always made tortillas for them.
Her parents and three sisters, Sylvia Martinez, Maria Gloria and Janie Rodriguez, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Christina Palmer and husband, Robert; life partner for more than 30 years, Beto Landa; two grandchildren, Kimberly Martinez and William Palmer; and seven brothers and sisters, Gloria Aguilar and husband, Robert, Delia Deleon and husband, Arturo, Pete Martinez and wife, Adriana, Francis Flores, Johnny Martinez and Janie Gloria, Maria Luna and husband, Tony, and Joe Martinez and wife, Cindy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Days Inn to the South and Western Sizzlin' to the North.
