Brenda Carruthers, 54, former Altus resident of Oklahoma City, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with De W. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Victory Cemetery under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Brenda Joyce Fleming was born May 11, 1961 to John Alfred and Earlene (Pollard) Fleming in Topeka, Kansas. Brenda and John Carruthers were united in marriage on November 21, 1998 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a caregiver as well as a homemaker. Brenda was a member of the Holy Revival Center in Altus. She was a very giving and compassionate person. In her spare time she loved to go fishing.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rhonda Fleming. She leaves behind her husband, John, of the home; her mother, Mama Rose Fleming; three sons, Jovan Fleming, Tre Carruthers and Demetrick Carruthers; one grandchild; siblings, Alfred Fleming and wife, Carla, John Keith Fleming, Vanessa Sapp and husband, Richard, and Brian Miller; as well as many other family and friends.
