The one-of-a-kind Carol Emilie Molter was born September 17, 1936 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to John and Adeline (Seibel) Molter. She was an alumnus of Balfour Collegiate School in Regina. Carol met Paul Gilbert while he was on temporary assignment in Canada. They married on October 27, 1955 in Greenville, South Carolina and were blessed with four wonderful daughters. As an Air Force wife, she was always prepared for Paul’s many military assignments and her contributions enriched the community in each of the places she lived. In 1970 the family moved to Altus and planted roots. Throughout her life, Carol remained lovingly devoted to her family. She led them in many memorable game nights, camping and hot air ballooning adventures. Carol was known for her caring nature, fun-loving spirit and joyful laugh. She lit up any room she entered and being with her made everyone feel brighter. As a true lady of grace, poise and deep faith, Carol was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She worked as office administrator at Dick Coates State Farm Insurance for almost 20 years before her retirement. Carol was very community minded and served as President of the NCO Wives Club, Laureate Psi of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was involved in a variety of charitable service projects. Some of her hobbies included exploring with her husband in their RV, playing Mah-Jong, quilting and being a member of many “lunch bunches”. An incredible hostess with a love of all celebrations, Carol enjoyed sharing her Canadian heritage through her family recipes. She was the epitome of true friendship and cherished most times spent with her family and friends. Carol will be deeply missed and loved with the same depth as she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joseph Molter.

Carol is survived by her husband Paul; daughters, Patricia Gilbert-Webster; Paula McDonel and husband Cleatus; Penny Miller; and Paige Dempsey and husband James; sisters, Lorie Carveth; Adele Mather and husband Gary; brother, Michael Molter; grandchildren, Devon Sibley and husband Matthew; Kevin McDonel; Justin Miller; Brenden McDonel and wife Amandalyn; Derek Miller and wife Sophia Alcantar; Emily Dempsey; and Ryan Dempsey; great-grandchildren, Addie Sibley; Layla Sibley; extended family and countless friends.
