Donald L. Blackwell, 77, Altus, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his home. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Erin Martinez officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Donald was born on November 24, 1937 in Blue Mound, Illinois to Arvil and Teresa (Saladin) Blackwell. He served in the United States Air Force from 1958 until 1961. He married Sherry Montgomery on February 1, 1963 in Duke, Oklahoma. Donald worked in sales for most of his life at Montgomery Ward’s and the American Greeting Corporation. Donald enjoyed fishing, woodworking and making furniture. He loved landscaping and people would often have parties in his yard because it was “like a park.” He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. His parents and two brothers, James and Doyle Blackwell, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Sherry, of the home; a daughter, Tracy (Blackwell) Nunn and husband, Jim, and their children, Ali, Mandie and Wyatt, all of Portland, OR; a son, Michael Blackwell of Altus, OK; three sisters, Anita Dennis and husband, Al, of Reno, NV, Diane Stamey and husband, Charles, of Bozeman, MT and Jane Elliott and husband, Paul, of Sparks, NV; and an uncle, James Saladin and wife, Thelma, of Reno, NV.
