Donald Wayne “Don” Pigg, 82, Altus, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Tamarack Road Church of Christ with Robert Bowers officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Cemetery, Southwest of Weatherford, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Don was born on June 25, 1930 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Joseph Arthur and Rena Lucille (Hampshire) Pigg. He grew up in Weatherford and graduated from Southwestern State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1953. He married Marjorie Sonntag on December 18, 1949 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She passed away on May 25, 2009. Don worked as a civil service accountant for the Altus Air Force Base. He retired after 35 years of service. Don was a member of the Tamarack Road Church of Christ, Jaycees, Lions, Jackson County Historical Society, Western Plains Genealogical Association, and was a former Altus Band parent. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, investing, genealogy and music. His wife, Marjorie (Sonntag) Pigg, his parents, Joseph Arthur and Rena (Hampshire) Pigg, a grandson, Zachary Grant Rutledge, and three brothers, Morse Dean Pigg, Dorris Gene Pigg and Doyle Garth Pigg, preceded him in death. Survivors include four daughters, Donna Smith and husband, Mike, of Altus, Oklahoma, Diane Fleming and husband, Joe, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Vickie Henry and husband, Ralph, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jane Rutledge and husband, Dean, of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren, Heather Brunner, Jennifer Smith, Eric Fleming and wife, Angela, Adam Fleming, Racheal Burdette and husband, Cole, Molly Jordan, and Sara Baragona and husband, Scott; and four great grandchildren, Ethan Brunner, Ashley Baragona, Zachary Baragona and Blayne Fleming. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
