Donna Marie Smith

Donna Marie Smith, 73, a lifelong resident of Altus, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Friendship Baptist Church with Brother Jim Brown officiating. The Smith family will greet friends and family Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home. Cremation services have been provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Donna was born March 3, 1946 to Donald and Billie (Allen) Russell in Modesto, CA. She graduated from Altus High School with the Class of 1964 and married Bobby Smith on June 2nd, 1965 in Vernon, Texas. To this union two children were born, Bobby Jr. and Denise. Donna was a daycare provider for over 35 years and touched the lives many children in the community. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where she attended with her family. Donna enjoyed reading, going to garage sales and Goodwill, playing card games, watching movies and playing with her dog Angel. She cherished the special time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby, and her parents. She is survived by her son Bobby Smith, Jr., of Oklahoma City and his partner, Donna; daughter, Denise Thornton and husband, Dean of Altu;, three grandchildren, Lauren Belcher and husband, Charles of Elk City; Taylor Thornton and wife, Katie of Seminole, TX; Shelby Lucus and husband, Clint of Altus; four great grandchildren, Railen, Ava and Creed Belcher; and Rance Thornton. She also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Barbara Blankenship and husband, David; and Linda Tidwell, step-mother, Marian Russell; Aunt Nancy Batterton; special friends, Richard Thompson, Scott, Michelle, Reagin and Danaca Roudebush, Steve and Judy Lance, and host of many other nieces nephews and other friends.
