Francyne Bernice Coffey was born on March 26, 1938 at the Zacaweista headquarters on Waggoner Ranch, south of Vernon, Texas to Delton Robert and Audrey B. (Rodgers) Coffey. She grew up in Crowell, Texas and graduated high school from there. Francyne received her nurse’s certificate in Clinton, Oklahoma . She met the love of her life, Burl Winters, while working as a nurse at Site 5 of the missile sites. The two were married on August 10, 1962 in Crowell, Texas, a life journey together for over 58 wonderful years. At the age of 58, Francyne received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. She fulfilled her passion for caring for others as a Nurse, and found her career home at the Jackson County Health Department. She enjoyed over 27 years at the Jackson County Health Department where she truly loved her co-workers and patients! Francyne retired as the District Nursing Supervisor for the health department, over five counties. Over the years, she also taught nursing classes at Western Oklahoma State College, and she even found time to study and receive her Real Estate and Brokerage license in order to operate a Real Estate Office in Hobart, OK, “Action Realty”, for several years. After retirement, she continued serving and caring for others at Angels Home Health Care. She especially enjoyed working alongside a very dear friend, Jan Diltz, at English Village Nursing Manor, as the Patient Advocate, giving much love to the residents there. Francyne had a gift and passion to care and serve others, and she especially loved spending time with and caring for the elderly. Francyne enjoyed life, but most of all she enjoyed people! She made lifelong friends through her nursing career to add to her list of “Family”! She treasured her family and enjoyed memories made through Sunday dinners, vacations, shopping trips, holidays and simple everyday life together. Francyne will be remembered for her beautiful smile, reaching out to hold your hand and love on you, putting others first, and her loving, caring, giving spirit! She gave true meaning to “Unconditional Love” to all, and she will truly be missed by many.
