Harvey Wayne Kaylor

Harvey Wayne Kaylor, 86, Altus, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at his home. Private family services will be webcasted at 2:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2020 with Bobby Laws and Corky Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery with military honors and Masonic rites under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Harvey Wayne Kaylor was born on September 8, 1933 in Rosiclare, Illinois to Byron Jack and Lucy (McDonald) Kaylor. He grew up in Rosiclare and graduated high school in 1952. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1957 and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Harvey married Loree Chisholm on July 22, 1958 in Harrisburg, Illinois. The two travelled all over the world on different duty stations. He retired in February of 1981 as a Senior Master Sergeant after more than 24 years of service. Harvey also worked for Western Oklahoma State College for 18 years, retiring in 1999. He was an avid fisherman and looked forward to the Annual Harvey Kaylor Fish Fry. He was a member of the Altus Masonic Lodge #62 and served as the Past Master. Harvey also served in many different Masonic affiliations. He also served as the Grand Flag Bearer for the Most Worshipful Bobby Lee Laws in 1990. Harvey was a Past Worthy Patron for the Order of the Eastern Star #49. He was of the Baptist faith and was the kind of man that would give to anyone or anything in need and never asked for anything in return.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Kaylor; a brother, Garvin "Slim" McDonald; and two sisters, Kathryn Smith and Mary Ella Stout.

Harvey is survived by his daughter, Sarah Kaylor-Danko; two grandsons, Stephen and Bryan Danko; five nieces and nephews, Brenda Meeboor and husband, Bill, Barbara Guffey, Gary McDonald and wife, Molly, Larry McDonald and wife, Danielle, and Robbie Stout and wife, Tena; multiple great nieces and nephews; and friends, his sidekick, Bobby Lee Laws, and Corky Grigsby.
