Hattye Lou Ray, 85, Altus, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at English Village Manor in Altus. The family will host a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Altus. Viewing for Hattye Ray is available from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Saturday, May 4th at Kincannon Funeral Home. Cremation will be provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Hattye Lou Griffin was born June 16, 1933 in Ennis, Texas to Floyd and Lucy (Graves) Griffin. She attended schools in Ennis, Texas and later graduated from Frederick High School, Frederick, Oklahoma. She married Joe C. Ray in Altus, Oklahoma in 1981. She was a loving wife, mother, a foster parent and a home health care provider. Hattye was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Altus. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, canning, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.
Hattye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Cathy Jones; two sons, Alvin and Taft Jones; a grandson, Andrew Jones; and a brother, Robert Griffin.
She is survived by three daughters, Wanda Jones, Marilyn Williams, and Lequeta Bester; two sons, Dennis Griffin and Marvin Jones; two sisters, Maxine Young and JoAnn Fowler; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends.
