James Paul "Jimmy" Williams

January 12, 1968 — March 25, 2019

James Paul "Jimmy" Williams, 51, passed away at his home in Smithville, Texas on Monday, March 25, 2019. Memorial services have been scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donald Altom officiating. A private inurnment will be scheduled at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

James was born on January 12, 1968 to Eddie and Connie (Hawkins) Williams in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Jimmy moved to Blair with his family at the beginning of his sophomore year and was a standout on the Broncs basketball and baseball teams. He graduated from Blair High School in 1986. He was voted Mr. BHS his senior year. Jimmy was involved in all school activities, but his passion was basketball. He spent his adulthood in the Oklahoma City area where he worked for many years in the Mustang Public School systems. He later moved to Smithville, Texas where he was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation until his untimely death. Jimmy's passion was reading, especially good 'ole westerns. He always had a book nearby and would much rather read than talk. He was a huge Sooner fan and followed them loyally. To those who knew him best, he was always "the quiet one, a man of few words." However, when he did have something to say, everyone listened. Jimmy loved his family and always looked forward every summer to the family reunion, where he sat quietly by and watched while his rambunctious relatives made "fools" of themselves. He especially loved his daughter, Jammie, and hearing about the antics of his two grandsons. Everyone would agree that Jimmy was a humble man with a giant heart.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Reba and Ewell Wilson and Ebe and Ruby Williams.
He is survived by his daughter, Jammie Legg and husband, Joey, of Pikeville, NC; his mother, Connie and husband, Lee McConnell, of Canadian, OK; father, Eddie Williams and wife, Wanda, of Grand Prairie, TX; two grandchildren, Justice and Jayden Legg; two brothers, Doug Williams and wife, Robyn, of Wichita, KS and Jeffrey Williams and wife, Claudia, of Dallas, TX; a sister, Reba Miller and her husband, Nathan, of Cincinnati, OH; grandfather, Paul Hawkins and wife, Helen, of Gordonville, TX; as well as a host of other relatives and close friends..
