Juanita Simmons Bryce, 89, passed away on May 3, 2015 in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, May 18, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Player officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Juanita was born on August 9, 1925 to Clarence C. and Ruby (Merritt) Simmons in Altus, Oklahoma. She grew up mainly in Seminole, OK and graduated from Seminole High School in 1943. Juanita and CF Bryce were united in marriage on January 3, 1945 at the Old Post Chapel at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Juanita and CF began their married life where CF's service in the United States Navy took them. After the war, they moved to Altus initially, but eventually lived in Anton, TX, Alamosa, CO, Fort Stockton and Giddings, TX. Juanita worked as a journalist and a bookkeeper while CF worked in the agricultural industry. She was also involved in the local communities where she and CF lived as a Key Club sponsor, Girl Scout Leader, and Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. When CF passed away in 1987, Juanita moved to Bedford, TX, to be near her children and granddaughters who fondly named her "Mop." In 1999, Juanita married Blake Woolbright. Juanita and Blake traveled extensively until Blake's passing. Juanita then lived in Bedford, TX and finally moved to Georgetown, TX in 2012. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, CF, her brother, James Simmons, and a sister, Loreta Simmons Collins. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Pfiester and husband, Don, and Julie Schultz and husband, Mike; granddaughters, Jaybie Thurmond and husband, Tom, Rachel Miller and husband, Matt, and Brooksie Cowgill and husband, Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Clayton and Emmy Thurmond, Matthew, Max and Mason Miller, and Cooper, Campbell and Collin Cowgill. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Katherine Bryce, and brothers-in-law, Henry Hartsell and Warren (Corky) Bryce and wife, Irma, all of Altus, OK. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who all held special places in her heart.
