Karl Gene Lovett, 43, Altus, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Turvaville officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral home. Karl was born on November 1, 1969 to Jim L. Lovett, Sr. and Barbara (Turner) Lovett in Altus, Oklahoma. He attended Altus Schools. He served in the US Army from 1989 until 1993. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He received numerous awards including the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, and the Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal. Karl and Jill Bingham were united in marriage on September 21, 2007 in Altus, OK. He graduated from Southwest Technology Center as a simulator technician. Karl was a member of the Masons and was a founding member of the New Johnsonville, TN chapter. Karl has driven a truck for Bates Brothers Trucking Co. for the last seven years. Karl enjoyed gardening, fishing and his truck. Karl is survived by his wife, Jill, of the home; his parents, Barbara and James L. Johnson of Altus, OK; six children, Zachary Karl Lovett, of Ft. Drum, NY, Kristin Morgan Lovett and Molly Ellen Lovett, both of Tennessee, Luke Lapham and April Cornelison of the home, and Tommy Cornelison of Missouri; one grandchild, Lily Cornelison; two brothers, Jimmy L. Lovett, Jr. of Tennessee and Jason D. Johnson, of Altus, OK; a sister, Shari L. Lovett Pollock and husband, Bill, of Tennessee; nephew, William Pollock of Tennessee, step nieces, Ciara Jerez of Altus, Sommer Bingham, Bethany Bingham, and step-nephew, Ryun Bingham all of NC; as well as many friends.
