Leona Cartwright

Leona Kay Cartwright, 61, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at her home in Altus, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 28 at 2:00 PM, at the Altus City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Leona was born on January 9, 1960 in Jackson County, Oklahoma to Edwin Lee and Helen Joyce (Alexander) Dean. She attended Altus Public Schools, and later went to work for the U.S. Postal service as a postal clerk.

She enjoyed spending her free time at the Comanche and Apache Casinos in Lawton. Leona also enjoyed watching television programs such as CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds, and most recently Perry Mason. Her biggest love was her son, Chad, and she cherished her time with him.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Leona is survived by her son, Chad Houston; a granddaughter, Blakely Houston; two sisters, LaDonna Goss and husband, William Goss, and LaDeana McCarley.
