Lois Jewell Hooper

Lois Jewell Hooper, 91, Eldorado, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Eldorado Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. Lois Jewell Slakey was born on November 23, 1922 in Lake Creek, Texas to Marcus and Drucilla (Burns) Slakey. She attended school in the Victory Community. Lois married H.T. Hooper July 3, 1940 in Colgate, Oklahoma. To this union two sons, Jim and Keith, were born. After raising her children, she attended and graduated from the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology in 1960. She worked as a hairdresser in Eldorado for 29 years before retiring in 1989. Lois also worked and helped out on the family farm all those years as well. She was of the Pentecostal Faith, was an exceptional cook and loved to work in her yard and garden. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H.T. Hooper; a brother, Clifton Slakey; and three sisters-in-law, Norma Slakey, Jerrye Dodson and Lorene Curry. Lois is survived by her two sons, Jim Hooper and wife Cassandra of Eldorado, OK; Keith Hooper and wife Karen of Eldorado, OK; one brother, Coy Slakey and wife Thelma of Durant, Ok; and several nieces and nephews. Viewing and family visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Eldorado Kincannon Funeral Chapel.
