Lois Virginia Reynolds

July 11, 1931 — March 25, 2016

Lois Virginia (Wilson) Reynolds, 84, former Blair resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 in Montgomery, Alabama. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 30, 2016 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Pete Wylie officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Lois Virginia Wilson was born on July 11, 1931 in Quanah, Texas to Berlie Emmert and Alma Carnelia (Smith) Wilson. She married her first husband and their daughter, Janice Carol, was born. Lois raised Jan in various places around the country, sometimes as a single mother. These experiences helped forge a Mother-Daughter relationship that was very strong. Lois and Jan spent a lot of time, had a lot of fun and made a lot of good memories with all of their nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lois married Pete Reynolds in 1971 and moved to Blair, Oklahoma. Lois and Pete were very active in the community where they owned Reynolds Rubber and Equipment as well as Reynolds Country Corner. They raised their two children, Charles and Betsy, during this time. Lois worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Admissions and Records Office at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus for 16 years. During her time at WOSC, she made many lasting friendships and received lots of praise for her ability to help students. She said in her retirement article: “Every time I sat down to help someone, there was a chance I could really make a difference.” When Pete had health issues later in life, Lois was a dedicated nurse who never left his side.

Throughout her life, she was a very hardworking and loving person. She always went above and beyond to ensure that her family and friends were well cared for. Lois was a very family oriented person and always loved to get together with her brothers and extended family whenever possible. She was happiest when company came to call, she would cook good food for everyone and share laughs and visit. Lois was always very thoughtful and would be the first to show and last to leave when someone needed help. She built strong relationships with her friends and family with her caring ways which were often reciprocated when she was in need. Lois will always be remembered for her kind and loving nature and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Presley Glenn "Pete" Reynolds, her parents, six brothers, Lowery Elvin, James Vonard, Charles Hazel, William Harold, Kenneth and Louis Don Wilson, and a son-in-law, Boyd Lee Wilson.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Wilson of Montgomery, AL and Betsy Reynolds of Ada, OK; a son, Charles Reynolds of Austin, TX; two grandsons, Lance and Landon Wilson, both of Montgomery, AL; a brother, Robert Wayne Wilson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins with whom she was very close.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
