Madison "Maddy" Lee Clinton, Jr.

Madison Lee "Maddy" Clinton, Jr., 54, Friendship, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 while battling a house fire north of Altus. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Altus, with Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Navajoe Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Maddy was born on June 5, 1964 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Madison and Mary (Mollet) Clinton. He graduated from Navajo School in 1982 and from Western Oklahoma State College in 1985. Maddy married Sandra Garrison on July 14, 1990 in Friendship, Oklahoma. To this union, two daughters were born. He worked at Fox Building Supply. Then he started his career as an electric lineman with SWRE in Tipton. He then worked for AEP/PSO for 24 years. Through his work as a lineman he has gone to several different states to assist in power restoration after Sandy, Katrina, and several hurricanes in Florida, as well as various ice, snow, and severe storms. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 1002 serving as a steward. Maddy also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Friendship Fire Department for many years and was the assistant chief. He has been a member of the Friendship Baptist Church since childhood, teaching RAs and serving as a deacon. In his youth, Maddy rode and raced three wheelers and four wheelers. Maddy loved spending time with his family and traveling. They went to many places, from coast to coast, mostly in a fifth wheel camper. He also enjoyed camping at the area lakes. Maddy was always ready to go fishing, especially for walleye and crappie.

His mother, Mary Clinton, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra, of the home; two daughters, Alison Martinez and husband, Mitchell, and Caitlin Clinton; his father, Madison Clinton; two brothers, Mark Clinton and wife, Francie, and Marty Clinton and wife, Lori; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Abway and husband, Mike, Linda Mazzone, and Lydia Dobbins and husband, Doug; two brothers-in-law, George Garrison and Robert Garrison and wife, Rhonda; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
