Margie Doles Lanier

Margie Doles Lanier, age 94, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Kincannon Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM the same day at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Margie was born on April 19, 1927 in Guntersville, Alabama to James Daniel Luther Hill and Nettie Mable Mead. She attended school in Chattanooga, Tennessee later working in the retail industry at Kress and Woolworths. Margie moved to Altus in the late 1990’s to live with her daughter. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of The Order of The Eastern Star. Margie loved to travel and enjoyed reading and completing crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Hill and Ray Hill; and one sister, Maude Sisk.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Mildred Ridge and husband, Chuck; son, Donald Lanier; three grandchildren, Serena Fairchild and husband, Mike, Cheryl Heal and husband, Ray, and Bridgette Baker; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
