Marshall G. Defoor, Jr., 60, Elmer, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at his home. A memorial reception will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Kincannon Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Marshall G. Defoor, Jr. was born on January 23, 1961 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Marshall G. and Alice (Smith) Defoor, Sr. He grew up in Frederick and graduated from Frederick High School in 1979. Marshall married Gussie Jane Thurmond on June 4, 1988 in Altus, Oklahoma. He worked for the Altus Walmart for over 30 years and retired as the maintenance manager. He also worked for the Elmer Country Store part-time for many years. Marshall enjoyed fishing, grilling out, anything UFO related and watching Stranger Things. He loved his OU football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His parents, wife, a sister, Vera Defoor, and a nephew, Brian Bradley Thurmond, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Phillip Defoor, Gregory Defoor, Amanda Renee Defoor and Amanda Elaine Rose; a daughter-in-law, Christina German; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Amy, Connor, Summer, Paylin, Violett, Willow and Anakin; four sisters, Mary Agee, Dorothy Carlson, Loraine Seely and Janette Sullivan; a brother, Jon Defoor; a brother-in-law, Brian Thurmond; a sister-in-law, Kristie Thurmond; and many other family members and friends.
