Mary J. Ward, 58, Altus, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020. Private family services will be held at a later time. Cremation has been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Mary Jill Poynor was born May 5, 1962 to Louis and Mary Jeanette (Cochran) Poynor in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mary graduated from Jonesboro High School with the Class of 1980. She then attended Arkansas State University where she earned an Associate Degree in Statistics and Record Keeping. Mary and Dr. David Ward were united in marriage on May 24, 2019. She retired in 2018 from the U.S. Postal Service after working thirty three years in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mary enjoyed puzzles, her pets, cooking, gardening and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Dr. David Ward and her beloved pets.
