Neftali "Nefta" Martinez

Neftali “Nefta” Martinez, 16, Altus, passed away at his home Monday, May 6, 2013. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday May 10, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Victor Lopez and Victor Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Neftali, the fourth of five children was born January 4, 1997 to Victor H. and Patricia (Cardona) Martinez, in Acuna, Mexico. He was raised in Altus and was a sophomore at Altus High School. He played football for the Altus Bulldogs for four years. He enjoyed being outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting and playing all sorts of sports at home with his family and kids in the neighborhood. Neftali had a personality that only one in a million kids are blessed with. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Magdalena Rosales, and his maternal grandmother, Angelica Ramos. Neftali is survived by his parents, Victor and Patricia Martinez, of the home; one sister, Paloma Martinez, of the home; three brothers, Victor Martinez, Jr., Hugo Martinez, and Josue Martinez, all of the home; paternal grandfather, Chon Martinez, and maternal grandfather, Erasmo Cardona. The Martinez family will greet friends 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
