Ricky D. Maxfield

Ricky Don Maxfield, 64, passed away at his home in Altus Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Eddie Hayworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Ricky was born June 28, 1954 to Hershel and Beulah Faye (White) Maxfield in San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from Granbury High School, Granbury, Texas, with the class of 1972, and, in September of the same year, enlisted in the United States Air Force. Ricky graduated from the NCO Academy and had served as an Intelligence Operations Technician, Flight Simulator Technician and Training Systems Technician. He was awarded numerous performance and service decorations and was honorably discharged in September of 1992 as a Tech Sergeant. During his time in the military, Ricky and Julia Kaye Gaston were married on July 9, 1977 in Acton, Texas. Following his military career he began working as a flight simulator technician, first with Hughes, and later with Flight Safety, retiring in 2009. Ricky enjoyed antique and classic cars and trucks. Family was Ricky's top priority. He loved them with all his heart and will be sorely missed. Ricky was of the Baptist faith.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Johnny and Terry Maxfield; and a sister, Carolyn DePriest.

He leaves behind his wife, Julia of the home; two daughters, Laura McCormack and husband, Ryan; Cheryl Davlin and husband, Jason; one son, J.R. Maxfield and wife, Kristina; six grandchildren, Sierra, Magnum, and McKenzie McCormack; Kailea and Chase Davlin; and Eliza Maxfield; one great granddaughter, Nichole Allen; one brother, Stephen Maxfield and wife, Brenda; three sisters-in-law, Connie Maxfield, Daina Hayworth and husband, Eddie, and Angela Gaston; one brother-in-law, Stephen Gaston and wife, Darlene, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Maxfield family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
