Ruby Lee Davis

Ruby L. Davis, 86, passed away at her home in Altus Tuesday morning, September 25, 2018. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Apostle Robert Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Ruby Lee Richards was born November 6, 1931to Elbert and Mae Etta (Mitchell) Richards in Hollis, Oklahoma. She attended Lincoln High School. Ruby and Sherman Davis, Jr. were united in marriage in 1951 at Altus, Oklahoma. She had been a member of the New Hope Church and was currently a member of the Spirit of the Lord Church. Ruby was a housekeeper at the Red River Inn at Altus Air Force Base for ten years and later worked as a housekeeper at Jackson County Memorial Hospital for twenty five years. She enjoyed fishing, going to church and gardening. Her favorite times were spent with her children, grandchildren and friends.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sherman; son, Eddie Davis; sister, Ruth Hill and three brothers, Elbert Richards, Travis Richards and Robert Richards.

Ruby is survived by five daughters, Loretta Veals, Lisa Davis, Carla Davis, Arletha Davis and Sonya Davis; three sons, Nathaniel Davis, Joe Davis and Sherman Davis; two sisters, Novella Richards and Gloria Ferris; two brothers, David Richards, and Joe Richards; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The Davis family will greet friends Friday, September 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
