Simon Timothy Paredes

Simon Timothy Paredes, 54, Altus, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at his home. Celebration of life services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Kevin Baker officiating. Services are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Simon was born on May 15, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Martin R. Paredes and Patricia A. Rocha. He attended Martha, Blair and Vernon schools. He graduated from the Western Technology Center in Burns Flat, Oklahoma, taking butcher and mechanic courses. He worked for Wal-Mart, Unit Drilling and was the assistant manager for the Homeland store in Elk City, Oklahoma. Simon was a member of the Martha Road Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, vehicle restoration and spending time with his family.

His father, Martin R. Paredes, and grandparents, Ramon and Juanita Rocha, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Patricia and Bill Lay of Martha, OK; four brothers, Martin Maldonado and wife, Tina, of Martha, OK, Edward Gloria and wife, Glenda, of Altus, OK, Kevin Lay and wife, Neth, of Moore, OK, and Steven Lay of Altus, OK; four sisters, Norma Post of Stonewall, LA, Brenda Edwards and Latrice, of Altus, OK, Candy Lay of Elk City, OK, and Sandra Alsip and husband, Sherman, of Elk City, OK; many nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles including Raymond and Lucy Rocha of Bovina, TX, Leslie and Delores Stickney of Blair, OK, Linda Ruiz of Altus, OK, Jenny and the late Darrell McClendon of Oklahoma City, OK, Joey and Yolanda Cooper of Oklahoma City, OK, and Manuel Rocha of Martha, OK.
