Taylor Fixico, 88, Olustee, passed away, Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. The family will greet friends from 2:00until 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Kincannon Gathering Room. A wake will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 7:30 pm at the Prairie Springs Indian Baptist Church of Okemah, OK. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Prairie Springs Indian Baptist Church in Okemah with Pastor Richard Fixico officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Integrity Funeral Service, Henryetta, Oklahoma. Local arrangements are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Taylor was born March 22, 1925 to Robert and Lucy (Pigeon) Fixico in Okemah, Oklahoma. Taylor and Dorothy Lee Harjo were united in marriage June 7, 1945 in Okemah, Oklahoma. To this union eight children were born. Taylor worked as a farmer, and retired in 1975 due to a disability. He was an Elder Deacon at the Prairie Springs Indian Baptist Church. He enjoyed all sports, wrestling, Wahoo, horseshoes and carving things. Taylor is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brother Tommy Fixico; granddaughter, Lauren Avila; grandson, Alan Ogletree; and daughter-in-law, Lue Deana Fixico. He is survived by his children, Skeet Fixico, of Altus, OK, Linda Fixico, of Altus, OK, Nelda Avila and husband, Bob, of Altus, OK, Lois Joblin and husband, Mike, of Olustee, OK, Charles Fixicoand wife, Judy, of Lawton, OK, Debora Johnson and husband, Deporter, of Altus, OK, Steven Todd Fixico of Olustee. OK. and Marcus Fixico, of Olustee, OK; twenty eight grandchildren, Dawn Cupps and husband Gary, Kelley Fixico, Eagle Fixico and wife, Margi, Leegia Fixico, Landon Fixico and wife Laurie, Lynn Dale Fixico and wife Suzie, Bobby Avila and wife Karla, Alyssa Massie and husband Jason, Lori Moss and husband Chris, Patricia Olgetree-Lowe and husband Ryan, Katheryn Bishop, Charles Bishop and wife Dawn, James Bishop, Dee Johnson, Delia McKeaver and husband Cedric, Dean Johnson, Billy Joblin and wife Leah, Matt Joblin, Michelle Joblin, Jaime Renee Fixico, Steven Wayne Fixico and Caley Fixico; forty seven great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
