Taylor McGill,

Taylor McGill, Jr., 53, passed away at his home in Altus on Saturday, August 2, 2014. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darryl Harris officiating. Burial will take place in the Northlawn Cemetery in Redford, MI at a later date. Local services are entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. Taylor was born on May 29, 1961 to Taylor and Cherrlyn (Stephens) McGill, in Detroit, MI. He was born and raised in Michigan, but moved to Altus in 2004. Taylor and Marjorie Lewis were united in marriage on April 2, 2005 in Martha, OK. He worked at Whataburger for five years and then went to Southwest Technology Center where he worked for seven years, working as a maintenance and security person. He was very outspoken individual, always greeting everyone; laughing and joking. He liked to work on cars and also do yard work. He is preceded in death by his father and one brother, Darryl McGill. He leaves behind his wife, Marjorie, of the home; mother, Cherrlyn McGill of Detroit, MI; eight children, Chaykeisia Sapp of Stone Mountain, GA, Quanece Lewis of Stone Mountain, GA, Taylor McGill, III of Altus, OK, Hasanti McGill of Altus, OK, Ai’Shunta McGill of Altus, OK, Margurite McGill of Altus, OK, LaToya McGill of Detroit, MI, and LaQuita McGill of Detroit, MI; four grandchildren, Adrian, Andre’, Audriunna, and Brayla; sister, Cheryl McNary and husband, William, of Detroit, MI; and a brother, Murice McGill of Detroit, MI. The McGill family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 7, 2014 in the Kincannon Gathering Room. Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Best Western to the South or Western Sizzlin’ to the North.
