Terry Downs

Terry L. Downs, 57, long time Altus electrician, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 in Kyle, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with his family and friends sharing stories. Cremation will follow his funeral service and is being provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Terry Lynn Downs was born December 3, 1963 in Guymon, Oklahoma to James and Carol (Stewart) Downs. In 1970 his family moved to Altus, where Terry graduated from Altus High School with the Class of 1983. He married Sandra Brown May 27, 1994 in Altus, Oklahoma and to this union two daughters were born, Ashleigh and Tera. Terry was a lifelong electrician who loved what he did and had been doing it since he was in high school. He was currently working on an Amazon fulfillment center project near Austin, Texas when he passed away. He established his own company, Downs Electric, so that he could always be home with his girls when they were young. He encouraged them in all their hobbies, including playing golf & swimming. Terry himself enjoyed many different hobbies. He loved to race cars and work on his 1968 Chevy Nova. He taught his daughter Ashleigh to race and loved spending time at the track with family and friends. He participated in the 2016 Hot Rod Power Tour. He never missed an opportunity to help out a family member, friend, or stranger.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Carol Downs.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; two daughters, Ashleigh Morgan Downs and fiancé, Christian Adkins; and Tera Kay Downs; two sisters, Suzie Braddock and Jennifer Downs; three brothers, Freddy Downs; Greg Downs and wife, Jinebel; and Bradley Downs; his mother-in-law, Judith Brown and many friends

The Downs family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the Kincannon Funeral Home.
