Vennie Lea Walker

September 10, 1925 — January 8, 2019

Vennie Walker, 93, passed away at her home in Altus Tuesday morning, January 8, 2019. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 PM on January 14, 2019 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Henry Holub officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Vennie Lea Fowler was born September 10, 1925, to James Henry and Ellen Mary (Smith) Fowler northwest of Eldorado, OK. She was a graduate of Eldorado High School. Vennie and Maburn Walker were united in marriage on November 20, 1946 in Vernon, TX. Maburn preceded her in death on July 27, 1986. She was a homemaker, a cook for the Altus Public Schools, and the custodian for the Thomas Street Church of Christ. Vennie was a charter member of Park Lane Church of Christ, which eventually became Tamarack Road Church of Christ. She had a strong faith in Christ her entire life, reading through the whole Bible twice a year. She loved traveling to visit with family and also enjoyed quilting and reading.

Vennie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and all six of her siblings; brothers, Charlie, Jewell, and Jake Fowler, and sisters, Faye McPherson, Florence Burnett, and Ruby Norris.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory five children: Janice Richardson and her husband, Mark, of Newkirk, OK, Randall Walker and his wife, Kathy, of Hurricane, UT, Joan Moody and her husband, Walt, of Bidville, AR, Kent Walker and his wife, Kristin of Glendale, AZ, and Craig Walker of Irving, TX. Her eleven grandchildren include Cody Richardson and his wife, Amy, of Arkansas City, KS, Ty Richardson and his wife, Brandi, of Wichita, KS, Aaron Walker and his wife, Ashley, of Pomeroy, WA, Nathan Walker of Portland, OR, Madison, Kellason, and Laureson Walker, all of Hurricane, UT, Kelly Moody of Chandler, AZ, Kassy Moody Burns and her husband, Thomas, of Fayetteville, AR, Lindsay Walker Harrel and her husband, Mike, of Glendale, AZ, and Cameron Walker of Tempe, AZ. She also is survived by eleven great-grandchildren, ten nieces, four nephews, and her church family members.
