Virginia Mae Arter

Mae Arter, 86, Eldorado, went to her Savior Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Plantation Village Nursing Home in Altus. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado with Rev. Pete Wylie officiating. Burial will follow services at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Virginia Mae Arter was born May 2, 1931 in Arapaho, Oklahoma to Emory and Floy Mae (Baker) Weldon. She attended school in Arapaho and married Loney Arter on July 8, 1948 in Burkburnett, Texas. To this union ten children were born. Mae was a homemaker who lovingly attended to the needs of her children and also to the many friends of her children. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Eldorado and enjoyed painting, making floral wreaths and spending time with her large family.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Devin Kyle Arter; three great grandchildren, Hunter Wayne Waldo, Veronica Maples and Cutter Emmons; son-in-law, Lee Snider; two brothers, James and Billy Weldon; and two sisters, Mary Hanks and Glenda Glancy.
She is survived by her husband, Loney Arter; six daughters, Wanda Hamersley and husband, Jerry; Joye Mae McDonald and husband, Bill; Shirley Maples and husband, Keith; Connie Snider; Carla Maples and husband, Kem; Teena Emmons and husband, David; four sons, David Arter and wife, Jean; Rev. Joseph Arter and wife, Jan; Loney Arter, Jr. "Butch" and wife, Debbie; Kenneth Arter and wife, Patti; thirty eight grandchildren; ninety seven great grandchildren; thirty one great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
