Adrian Stefano Lassiter, Jr., 11, son of loving parents, Ruby Johnson and Adrian Lassiter, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2023, at OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Apostle Bonita Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Adrian Stefano Lassiter, Jr. was born on October 29, 2011, in Altus, Oklahoma. The day he was born, it was known that he would be someone special, a child that would touch the hearts of many! He grew up in Altus and attended Altus Public Schools where he was truly loved by all his teachers.
Despite his physical challenges, Adrian’s personality lit up the room. He had many girlfriends and found joy watching them fight over him. Adrian would break up with them by shaking his head no, to let them know it was over or would scrunch his nose and squint his eyes to let them know yes, you are still his girlfriend, depending on his mood, LOL!! When his mother would have company, he would end all conversations when he wanted her attention, and TRUST AND BELIEVE the conversation was over. If you were not talking to him then no one could talk at all!! Adrian enjoyed numerous activities including, but not limited to, going for walks. And if you stopped, he would demand you keep moving. Let’s not leave out how much he loved car rides. He would get very upset at his Momma for stopping at red lights. He found great laughter from people sneezing and thought that was the funniest thing ever! He also enjoyed dancing and listening to music. If he did not like the song playing, he would let his Momma know. His favorite song was “Psycho” by Post Malone and his favorite shows to watch were CoComelon and Spiderman. His favorite pastime was when he took vacation once a year for 30 days at Bethany Children’s Center, where he enjoyed activities with normal kids like him. Though he would miss his Momma, she would drop in to surprise him during his stay. Adrian loved spending time with his family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to greet them with a “HEY” as they entered his home.
The parents of Adrian would like to thank EVERYONE for the outpour of love, prayers for peace, comfort, and strength during this exceedingly difficult time. It’s very hard to express how much your kind words of loving support mean to us during this time in our lives. Losing Adrian has been unbelievably hard. The struggle will be from day to day, but we are thankful we have the support of people like you! We would like to give a special thank you to Adrian’s doctors and nurses, the Altus Public School teachers, staff of Aveanna Health Care and the staff at OU Children’s Hospital.
Adrian was welcomed into Heaven in the arms of the Lord by his brother, Deondr’e Robinson; maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Johnson; and an uncle, Jay Johnson.
