Arthur Pitts, Jr. was born on June 6, 1961, in Amarillo. He was raised in Altus and attended Altus High School, graduating with the Class of 1979.

Arthur enjoyed every aspect of life and never missed an opportunity to make memories with the people he loved. He spent countless hours in the kitchen and around the barbecue, preparing delicious meals for family and friends. He was a devoted sports fan, especially when it came to the Dallas Cowboys. Above all else, Arthur treasured time with his family and loved simply being together, sharing laughter and enjoying life’s everyday moments. Those who knew him best lovingly described him as “an old grouch with the biggest heart.”

Arthur passed peacefully from this life on May 13, 2026, at his home at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Pitts, Sr.; and his mother, Ruth Mae Stern.

His memory will live on through his children, Johnny Danner, Diasiahia Danner, Alexus Pitts, and Kobie Emerson; his siblings, Marilyn Pitts, Anna Pitts, George Walton, Dennis Walton, and Denice Henderson; his first grandbaby, Jahtavia Danner; along with many other cherished grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless loved ones who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service in Arthur’s honor will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. In honor of Arthur’s love for the Dallas Cowboys, the family kindly requests that guests wear blue to the service.
