Betty Lou Wiliams Kirby, 77, of Altus, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 at English Village Nursing Home. Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Erin Martinez officiating. Burial followed at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Betty Lou Howard was born December 16, 1932 in Altus, OK to Alvin and Bessie Mae (Van Horn) Howard. She attended the Altus Schools. July 24, 1948, Betty married Elmer Williams and he passed away in 1990. She worked for twenty years at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in the laundry service department. In 1994, she married Kenneth Kirby and he preceded her in death in 2004. She was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church. Betty enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes as a pastime, and loved watching OU football games. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Elmer Williams, and Kenneth Kirby; two granddaughters, Tammy Howeth and Stephanie Brown; three sisters, Marion Warden, Helen Brown and Evelyn Pike; two brothers, Alvin Howard and Harvey Howard. Betty is survived by three daughters, Brenda Howeth and husband Mike of Altus, OK, Melba Bales and husband Jim of Altus, OK, Kathy Brown and husband Charlie of Lawton, OK; six grandchildren, Mark Howeth and wife Stephanie of Dallas, TX, Lisa Ishcomer and husband Wolf of Altus, OK, Jimmy Bales and wife Alicia of Duke, OK, Lori Zelez and husband Joey of Las Vegas, NV, Kimberly Davis and husband Brian of Lawton, OK, Michael Brown and wife Lindsey of Lawton, OK; and seventeen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and two special nieces Janie Muehe and Linda Brown.
