Betty Arlene (McLeod) Tabb, 96, Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday December 8, 2023, in Wichita Falls, TX. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Altus City Cemetery under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Betty Tabb, request that donations be made in her memory to “Hospice of Wichita Falls,” in Wichita Falls, Texas.

“Oh, good gosh!” one of a “Baker’s Dozen” born to Mordant H. and Addie Mae (Jameson) McLeod, Betty Arlene grew up near Blair, Oklahoma. She could often be found after school playing baseball with the boys or shooting some hoops. During high school, she met the love of her life, Harlan Tabb, with whom she would spend almost 60 years of wedded bliss. Betty and Harlan enjoyed being on the golf course – betting and competing to see who was the better player. She won the most quarters as well as sinking 3 hole-in-ones over the time of her avid golfing “career.”

Betty and Harlan would soon find themselves passing on their love to two amazing sons, Jerry and Curtis – then watching their family expand even more with four grandchildren – Leah Henderson, Jeff Tabb, Jared Tabb, and Joel Tabb – as well as many adorable great-grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her children, grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ralph, Pauline Lamb, Raymond “Dick,” Virgie Alice Hoxer, John, Robert, Lucille Youngblood, Joe, Doris Mayfield, Billy Charles, Patsy Cox, and an infant daughter, plus their spouses.

Betty’s legacy will be that of love, sarcasm, wit, humor, tenacity, and chocolate pie baking (the best tasting ever!). She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
