Carl Raiden

February 28, 1956 — July 9, 2021

Carl Edwin Raiden, 65, Altus, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Wilson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Carl Edwin “C-Buddy” Raiden was born on February 28, 1956 in Altus, Oklahoma to Cecil H. and Christine F. (Weaver) Raiden. He attended Altus schools and played basketball and football at Southeast Junior High. He also served in the US Navy for a brief time. Carl spent most of his adulthood at Boley Residential Home and Taliaferro Community Health Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. He walked to the beat of his own drum and was well known in the Altus and Lawton communities. Carl enjoyed kung fu movies and having a good time with family and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Ann (Raiden) Etheridge, Shirley Ann Raiden and Rebecca Gayle (Raiden) Crosby; a brother, Cecil Leroy Raiden; and his nephews, Robert Milton Crosby, Jr. and Kelvin Eugene Raiden Rogers.

Survivors include two sisters, Esther “Von” (Raiden) Binion and Gwendolyn Raiden Hands; nieces, Deannia (Raiden) Sherman, Yvette Johnson and Kimberly Packer; nephews, Joseph Jackson, Yves “Monte” Raiden, Chauncey Raiden, Wesley Raiden and wife, Tiffany, Markeith Raiden and wife, Christina, Cicel Crosby and wife, Tiffany, Datrille Crosby and Derrick Rogers; a great niece, Falynn Adams Lopez; and a great nephew, Jeffrey Shepherd, Jr.

The Raiden family appreciates and would like to thank everyone for anything they did for Carl.
