Carole June Duncan was born December 5, 1940, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Joseph Jones and Lucy Hazel (Kennedy) Jones. She grew up in Altus alongside her sister and later graduated from Altus High School. Throughout her life, Carole made her home in several places, spending approximately 20 years in Branson, Missouri, before returning to Altus in 2023. In 2025, she moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Carole met the love of her life, Jerry Donn Duncan, and the two married in Martha, Oklahoma. Their life together was a treasured part of her journey. Carole was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life.

Carole enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchild, Bryler, who held a special place in her heart. She also loved traveling, particularly to New Mexico, where she enjoyed the beautiful scenery and rich culture. Throughout her professional life, Carole dedicated more than 20 years of service to Southwestern Bell Telephone, working as a switchboard operator.

She passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the age of 85. Carole will be remembered for her love of family, her devotion to her faith, and the lasting memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lucy Hazel Jones; her brother-in-law, Bill Stricklen; and her sister, Joyce Stricklen.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Jerry Donn Duncan; her son, Kyle Duncan; her grandchild, Bryler Duncan; her nephews, Kerry Brown and his wife, Mellissa, Mike Brown and his wife, Janean, and Billy Stricklen; her nieces, Deana Ladd and her husband, Mike, Gail Stricklen, and Deborah Stricklen; her dear friends, Danny and Marilynn Russell; and many other family members and friends. Carole’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever treasure the love, memories, and moments they shared with her.
