Cecil Hilton Sheperson, Jr. was born June 5, 1945, to Cecil Hilton Sheperson Sr. and Madalyn (Overstreet) Sheperson. Cecil grew up on a tobacco farm in Gravel Switch, Kentucky.

He earned a B.S. Degree in Agriculture from the University of Kentucky in 1967.

While teaching Vocational Agriculture at Morgan County School in West Liberty Kentucky he earned a Master of Science Degree from Murray State University in 1970. He served three years on active duty with the United States Army, two years in the Army Reserve, and received Honorable Discharge from military service in 1979.

Cecil came to Altus, Oklahoma in 1987. He has worked for the Farm Credit System in various capacities for over 46 years retiring as the President and Chief Executive Officer of AgPreference in Altus.

Cecil passed away the morning of September 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil H. Sheperson Sr., his mother Madalyn Overstreet Sheperson, and son William Travis Hopkins. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Roudebush Sheperson of the home, daughter Kristina Lynn Sheperson, sister Linda and husband Bill Singler, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 13th, at Kincannon Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday, September 14th, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Mike Turner officiating. A private family burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Cecil’s name to the Altus Animal Shelter, 2200 Enterprise Dr., Altus, Oklahoma, 73521.
