Celestino Camarillo, Jr., affectionately known as “Cam” to his friends and “Cele” to his family, was born on November 16, 1943, in Laredo, Texas, to Celestino Sr. and Emma (Muhlenbruch) Camarillo. He was raised in Laredo, where he attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and Martin High School where he played football and ran track. On September 20, 1969, he married the love of his life, Manuela S. Montanez, in Big Spring, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with four children.

Cam proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an Administrative Officer, retiring after 20 years of faithful service. His military career took his family to several places, including California and Germany, before ultimately bringing them to Altus, Oklahoma, where they made their permanent home.

While living in Altus, Cam and Manuela opened La Hacienda and Pick Up Taco, where they became well known for serving delicious meals and welcoming generations of friends, neighbors, and visitors with warm hospitality.

Cam had a passion for life and enjoyed filling his days with the things he loved most. He could often be found in his garage, listening to music while restoring and repairing furniture. Whether playing the guitar, harmonica, or accordion, music was always close to his heart. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, card games and horsehoes with friends, and trying out new recipes, finding great joy in cooking for family and friends. The birth of his first grandchild brought him immeasurable joy, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with him. He freely gave his time, wisdom, encouragement, and help to anyone in need, always with the best intentions and never expecting anything in return.

Cam was adventurous, fearless and someone people naturally looked up to. He was an amazing Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and friend. He was someone everyone wanted to be around, and his advice was thoughtful, honest, and given with genuine care. His hard work, strength of character, and unwavering support inspired those who knew him. He was a jokester until the very end, always quick with a smile, a laugh, or a friendly greeting for everyone he passed. He had a way of making people feel welcomed and known. Above all, he loved God and was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Cam passed from this life on July 25, 2026, at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents, Celestino Sr. and Emma Camarillo; his brothers, Guadalupe Camarillo and Ricardo Camarillo; and his baby sister, Imelda Camarillo.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of more than 56 years, Manuela Camarillo; his daughters, Krista Camarillo and Teresa Camarillo-Schneider and husband Chris; his sons, Marco Camarillo and David Camarillo; his sisters, Imelda Perez, Emma Flores, Alma Camarillo-Cabello, and Rosario Camarillo-Cabello; his cherished grandson, Theo Schneider; his adored granddogs, Oden and Ninja; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of generosity, laughter, hard work, and love will live on in the countless lives he touched. His memory will be cherished forever by all who knew and loved him.

A Rosary is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Kincannon Funeral Home with a formal visitation to follow. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 30th, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
