Charles Jeffrey Brazelton, lovingly known by all who adored him as Charlie, passed away far too soon at the age of 16 on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Though his time on earth was brief, the joy, laughter, and love he shared with family and friends will leave a lasting legacy.

Charlie was born on October 15, 2009, in Los Angeles, California, to Brian and Alysa (Arnold) Brazelton. As the firstborn of three children, Charlie embraced his role as a big brother with pride and devotion. His two younger sisters looked up to him in every sense of the word, and he loved them with a quiet protectiveness that only an older brother could give.

Seeking to be closer to family, the Brazeltons relocated to Altus, Oklahoma, where they put down roots and became faithful members of Grace United Methodist Church. There, their faith served as the foundation through life's greatest joys and most difficult challenges.

Charlie attended Altus High School, where his remarkable intelligence shined both inside and outside the classroom. A valued member of the Academic Team, he had an uncanny ability to recall sports statistics, pop culture, and countless bits of trivia. Those who knew him often joked that he was a walking encyclopedia of random facts. Whether answering an impossible question or sharing a fun fact, Charlie had a gift for learning and an even greater gift for making others smile with what he knew.

Family game nights were among Charlie's favorite traditions. Whenever trivia games came out, everyone hoped Charlie would be on their team, knowing his incredible memory gave them the best chance at victory. His quick wit and infectious laugh made every gathering brighter.

Charlie had a heart for animals, and few companions meant more to him than his beloved Blue Heeler, Seamus. Whether they were relaxing at home or simply enjoying each other's company, Seamus was a faithful friend who rarely left Charlie's side. The special bond they shared reflected Charlie's gentle spirit and deep love for animals.

He also found countless hours of enjoyment playing video games with family and friends. Charlie was a loyal Seattle Seahawks fan who faithfully cheered for his team through every season. He appreciated good food and never turned down a plate of Cajun cuisine or one of his favorite pasta dishes.

More than any hobby or accomplishment, Charlie will be remembered for the love he gave so freely. He was intelligent without arrogance, funny without trying, and kind in ways that left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of home to his family, and his absence will be deeply felt every day.

Charlie is survived by his parents, Brian and Alyssa; sisters, Emma Faye and Melody Jo; beloved companion, Seamus; grandparents, Jeffery and Betty Brazelton and Melissa and Wade Arnold, Jr.; uncles and aunts, John Brazelton and DeAnna Smith, Alan and Bobie Brazelton, Amanda and Justin Pittman, and David and Marcayla Arnold; along with numerous cousins and church family members.

While hearts ache with the loss of a son, brother, grandson, and friend, those who loved Charlie find hope in the promise of Christ, trusting that one day they will be reunited where every tear is wiped away and death is no more. Until that glorious day, Charlie's memory will live on in every shared laugh, every trivia question, every Seahawks game, every wagging tail that recalls Seamus's faithful companionship, and every reminder of the extraordinary young man he was becoming.
