Charles Workman

Charles Workman, 92, Altus, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Lyles officiating. Cremation will follow services under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Charles Workman was born July 26, 1927 to Stonewall Jackson and Martha (Herald) Workman in Wilsondale, West Virginia. He attended school at Patrick Creek School in West Virginia. Charles served his country in the United States Navy starting in 1941 and being honorably discharged in1947. He was a veteran of World War II. Charles and Harvilla Ellene Tourney were united in marriage on June 16, 1946 in Yuma, Arizona. Harvilla preceded him in death in 2016. He was a truck mechanic for several years and was a member of the Warren Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, but most of all he loved his family and gathering with any and all of them.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Harvilla; daughter, Linda Workman; and eleven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two daughters, Diana Malesic and husband, Bob, and Charlene Taylor and husband, Kevin; one son, Charles D. Workman and wife, Rose; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind one brother, Jimmy Workman and wife, Helen.
